Friday And Chocolate Cake

Good Friday morning! This is the view outside my window as I sit in my spot on the couch, snuggled under a blanket, my coffee nearby. Many people on the coast will be seeing the same, if not worse, this weekend. Prayers for everyone in the path of that storm. Stock up and stay safe! In other news, we celebrated National Chocolate Cake Day because we celebrate everything, and Peyton did not disappoint! Look what she brought to share with all of us...

She made this fantastic cake herself, and what you cannot see is the layers of mousse she made for the inside! It was delicious! All my people were here, and we enjoyed a lovely evening together. Peyton's husband Christopher is the most amazing handyman ever and was happy to do a few things around here that have been on my list forever. It is a blessing when your older children enjoy spending time with you. And it is one Steve and I do not take for granted.

We really have no plans for the weekend. We will either watch or attend mass, and other than that, I imagine some will watch football, while others, myself included, will watch a movie or two. I have a pile of laundry to sort, wash, and fold and some phone calls I want to make to friends. Such an exciting life I lead here, right?? Well, light a candle, pour a cup of something cozy, my friends, and have a lovely day. Thank you for visiting. And thank you for sharing your likes and dislikes in my previous post! It was fun to get to know each other even more. I am also thankful to the readers who shared that do not blog themselves. It is so nice to know you and to know you are reading!

  1. What a beautiful cake. I'm sure it was delicious. It is snowing here pretty heavy but we're not supposed to have much accumulation.
    Have a wonderful weekend!!

  3. The snow looks so pretty and so does the fire in your fireplace! It's very cold here and we are expecting a little snow this evening, less than one inch I think. I'm cozied up on the sofa now in my cozy sweater. It's the perfect day for it. Peyton's cake is beautiful! Oh my goodness she is so talented. I know it was delicious. I'm thinking of making a batch of Madeleines this afternoon. They are so good with tea. Also, one of Charlotte's favorite snacks. Stay safe and cozy this weekend, my friend. We will likely venture out for a take-out lunch tomorrow and maybe one other errand and that's about it. Anyway, I'm ready for the weekend!

  7. Oh, chocolate cake sounds good. I'm going to make a chocolate ice box cake for my son's party tomorrow. 31! How can it be?

I am doing my best not to covet your snow! Nothing at all here in southern Missouri.

    Blessings,

  8. WOW what a cake! I saw on the news about all the snow heading to the east coast. It's been cold here too - low of 32 tonight. (PS: I had to move my blog - find me at www.melltells.com)

  11. Chocolate cake is my favorite cake! I like Ranger cookies with chocolate chips in it...this time a bit different with a different type of chocolate but still tastes delicious. I saw a map of storms coming east coast when my daughter showed it to me on her phone. You still have snow! We've had sunshine in our days and freezing nights for a week. Rain later so it will be warmer at night. Hugs and prayers!

  12. You're killing me with all your chocolate cake posts. LOL I seriously now have chocolate cake on the brain. That view out your window with all that snow looks beautiful. We're expecting snow next week but it won't be as much as you got. But I'll take whatever we can get, which will probably be just a couple of inches. No big plans for us this weekend, just a little shopping and lots of eating. Enjoy your cozy weekend.

  16. Peyton makes the most amazing cakes, oh my! I wish I had a piece to go with my hot coffee right now haha. And your snow pics are wonderful! I have been wondering if we will have another snowfall before Winter ends. So nice of Christopher to do handyman things around the house. That's so special. It's so hard to get any workers up here in the mountains, so my son went outside and raked all the leaves and hauled them away. I was so grateful.

Have a delightful February week, Billie Jo.
