Shark Week Is Here!

Traditions are big in our house. And this is one of our favorites. Discovery Channel's Shark Week is something we look forward to every summer. It is another thing that brings us together as a family. Shark Week is exactly what it sounds like. It is a week of shows about sharks on Discovery Channel. We enjoy the shows and sometimes I even print off some fun trivia from Pinterest. There are recipes, games, and crafts out there too. Can we watch shark shows any other time of year? You bet. But it just wouldn't be the same!

Here is a link to a schedule of Shark Week 2019!

Will you be watching, my friends?
Enjoy!

Being Kind...To Myself

Today I was thinking about the fact that I can't sew a button. On anything. Before I got too down on myself, I thought of something I can do. I can decorate my house and make it cozy as can be. I can't parallel park to save my life. I can, however, teach little children to read. I can't crochet a pretty blanket, but I can make the best pot of homemade turkey soup around. I can't sing. At all. I can twirl a baton like a Miss America contestant.

The older I get, the less time I want to waste wallowing in negativity. I want to embrace what I can do and what I love doing. I want to be kind to myself. And celebrate the talents of those who can sew, park, crochet, and sing.

Happy Monday, my friends!

Social Media Can Be A Good Thing

Like when you follow someone on Instagram and realize that although you live miles and miles apart, you share the same love of home, family, food, and cozy. This is my dear friend Joey. We met through Instagram years ago, and our families met once before when we spent days together at our old home. This summer, Joey and her amazing husband Roger are on the trip of a lifetime, and we are humbled they chose to stop here and visit for a few days as part of that trip.

Social media brought two women and their families together, and for that, I am grateful. Love you, Joey! Enjoy your journey!
