A Little St. Patrick's Day Tea Party

Yesterday we took a little break during our homeschool day for a St. Patrick's Day Tea. I insist on calling it a "Tea", despite the fact that I am the only one who actually drinks tea. : ) We also enjoyed green hot chocolate as well as some festive punch. For snacks, Peyton made the best chocolate cookies with green m&m's, and I found some Irish shortbread cookies that were amazing!

The refreshments were great, but even better was the time we spent together, gathered around our old kitchen table, talking and laughing and simply being. I've found that being mindful about living in the moment allows me to enjoy and appreciate days like these...the ones that are so fleeting. : )

When Flynn and I finished her school, we snuck out to the kitchen and decorated the table...

I found these cute little Leprechauns on Zulily, and set one at each place.
I like to find things that the kids can keep and take with them to their own homes.
My hope is that they will continue these traditions with their own little ones someday.

Tea for me...

Green cocoa for the girls...

And punch for the guy.  : )

It was a sweet little treat in the middle of our snowy Tuesday.
And it was good.

Have a lovely evening, my friends!
Thanks for visiting. : )

  4. I love it! We are having a prolonged St. Patrick's Day here too. We started this morning because certain people (not me surely, except...) couldn't wait to have Lucky Charms. Tomorrow is preschool St. Patrick's Day since there is no school on Friday. And then Friday we will have our house party. :) I always make Irish soda bread because I love it and sometimes mom gets to pick!
