A New Graduate

Our Peyton Rose graduated from high school this month...and...she did it as a junior! While she opted out of attending our cyberschool's actual graduation ceremony, she did enjoy the celebration we had in her honor this past weekend. We are so very proud of this studious, self-motivated, Fox News-loving young woman, and cannot wait to see what the future holds for her. Peyton is taking a year off before she makes a decision about her future, mainly because her interests lie in so many different areas. She loves to cook and bake...she loves working with children...she has an interest in politics as well as healthcare. For the time being, she is exploring all her options and taking a much deserved break. And this mom could not be happier. We are so proud of you Peyton Rose. Congratulations and may God Bless you as you begin the next chapter in your amazing life.

From this precious little soul on her first day of Kindergarten,

To the lovely young lady she is today...
We love our Peyton Rose.

Here are some photos of the way we celebrated her this past weekend...

Her favors were personalized m&m's...

And the cutest little lady offered to pass them out.

We had two cakes...

A chocolate and peanut butter one celebrating Peyton...

And a white raspberry cream for our friend Fr. Ross who was celebrating the 7th anniversary of his ordination!

And here they are. : )

Best friends...

And more best friends...
(My mom and Blueberry Mary)

Family...
Steve's wonderful family was there too, and somehow I got no pictures with them!

(This is my favorite cousin, Mike.
He made the very long trip just to celebrate with us.
It made me so happy.
Like having a piece of my Dad with us today.)

And friends who are just like family...
( My dear friend Heather and her hubby Dave)

( My best friend Marian...who loves my children as her own)

Our friendship summed up in three pictures!

My Girls.

Sisters.
And best friends.

The cake was AMAZING!

Home afterward...

Our girl.
All grown up!

Enjoy those school days, my friends.
They pass way too quickly!
But you know what?
When the time comes, you realize your child is ready.
And you are proud.

  7. Hooray for Peyton! How wonderful for her to take her time. She graduated early but even if she hadn't it's so good to have a good sense of what's next. She is clearly so talented and could do many great things. Even if she does not feel called to bake professionally, it's such a great skill for her to have!! This may be a silly suggestion but has she considered being a nutritionist? Each grocery store in our area has one on staff and they teach cooking classes to kids and adults, but can also meet with you individual to set you up for optimal health. It seems like something that combines a lot of her interests. Anyway, whatever her journey, your family is blessed to have her in your fold!

  9. Congratulations to the graduate! What a lovely girl she is and what a wonderful way to celebrate her achievements. Taking time off is wise. I used to work for a gentleman who believed every high school graduate should never choose a profession, or decide what to major in, until at least two years later, as so much about a young person changes after high school. This man had a genius IQ if that tells you anything. :)

I'm sure your daughter will be successful in whatever she sets her mind to do.

  11. How wonderful and amazing! She is a high school graduate now!!! It's crazy! And the party looks like a huge success. Wonderful memories for your Peyton. I think a gap year is a good idea. I was thinking our Ester may have one as well. Whatever she ends up deciding to do, she will rock it like a rock star!

  17. Why am I crying? I think it's because of how you're ready too. Ready for Peyton to be who she is right at this very age. How I long to have that confidence you have Billie Jo. I'm always wishing for little. If only I could walk around all day with Anna on my hip. But you? You loved that, loved all of the school days in between, and love it now. You're my Mom hero.

Congratulations Peyton! What an amazing accomplishment. Enjoy your summer, every little bit!
