Fall Fun Day 2016

Pennsylvania is providing some beautiful autumn days this year. And we took advantage of one of those perfect fall days to load up and head to our nearby state park for our annual Fall Fun Day. We do this every year and the kids always look forward to pizza and playing at the park. It is an easy way to spend time together and enjoy the outdoors with minimal effort. Winning! Some years we wear short sleeves and sunscreen, others mittens, hats and scarves. This year. Perfection. Minus the fact we were short one child...this is the first time my Madison wasn't with us, and she was missed. : )

Never too old for the Tube Slide!

My amazing mom joined us and enjoyed the beautiful day!

We took a nice long walk and gathered all types of leaves.
(Note to self: Score for Phys.Ed and Science!)

After we left the park, Steve took the long way home so we could enjoy the leaves...

Enjoy your fall days, my friends!
They are fleeting!

  2. What a pretty day! Your pictures are beautiful. My Bill, like Steve, has been known to take the long route home for some special sightseeing as well. Got to love those men who appreciate the little things like that. Yay Steve!
    Enjoy your week, Billie Jo.

  5. I could not love this post more Billie Jo! I love your traditions!! And I have been trying to enjoy every last fleeting moment of this perfect time of year. The leaves have really begun to fall here and it's getting chillier. I know Christmas excitement is right around the corner - but I still never want this time of year to end. ::sigh::

Enjoy posts like this to continue the autumn glow perfectly! Thanks my Friend. xoxo

  7. Sounds like a great day out, making some beautiful memories. The drive home was stunning, the amazing array of colour was a feast for the eyes. Must have been hard without Maddison.

  15. Oh what a lovely family day. I understand how you feel about your oldest daughter not being there. My son has moved out and no longer comes with us for our family days a lot of the time...and my heart just misses him so. You took beautiful photos and truly captured the beauty of fall. Hugs to you. 16. What a beautiful Fall outing! Yes they are certainly fleeting. Our weather can't make up its mind. Its suppose to be Fall, but the warm weather feels like Summer. I think its confused ;)
    Enjoy your week!
    Hugs, Amy

  17. You are so much braver than I am! I have a fear of getting stuck in the tube slide. Kinda like Augustus Gloop in Willy Wonka...

  18. Just beautiful, Billie Jo!! I think the part of this post that hits me most is the time you spend with your mama. I'm so happy that you live that close to her and can enjoy the moments together. I live vicariously through you! :)
