And here is what's inside...
The first thing inside is the December poem
Christmas Poem by Carice Williams
Each Christmas I remember
The ones of long ago;
I see our mantelpiece adorned
With stockings in a row.
The ones of long ago;
I see our mantelpiece adorned
With stockings in a row.
Each Christmas finds me
dreaming
Of days that used to be,
When we hid presents here and there,
For all the family.
Of days that used to be,
When we hid presents here and there,
For all the family.
Each Christmas I remember
The fragrance in the air,
Of roasting turkey and mince pies
And cookies everywhere.
The fragrance in the air,
Of roasting turkey and mince pies
And cookies everywhere.
Each Christmas finds me
longing
For Christmases now past,
And I am back in childhood
As long as memories last.
For Christmases now past,
And I am back in childhood
As long as memories last.
The next thing inside is my list of things to do this month.
December
- Holiday baking supplies
- Christmas picture
- Cards
- Wrap and mail gifts
- Decide on Christmas meal
- Complete everything by December 17!!!
I also have a recipe for a Manger Cake...a birthday cake for Jesus and a Christmas Tree Blessing that the kids brought home from preschool years ago. I used to make a schedule for the Christmas season, but since we are schooling at home now, we have so much more time to do things during the day.
And that is it, my friends. That is what is inside my December folder. I strive every year to be done with everything...the shopping, baking, wrapping, delivering, mailing, and card writing...so that the week leading up to Christmas is spent in quiet, family time preparing for the birth of Jesus. Have a wonderful month my friends! Happy December!
I've been waiting for this post!!! :) Seriously, my December folder has been all decorated and on my desk waiting to have a list attached to it. Sure, I could come up with a list all on my own, but this whole year, I've started each month with a decorated folder (with stickers since I couldn't find your sweet folders) and your list. I've loved this idea alllllll yeart! xoxoxo tara
ReplyDeleteI like your new blog look ;) I'm in the process of figuring out a new header pic for mine. December…I agree! The fall has just whizzed by at warp speed. Enjoy this first Christmas season as a home schooler!
ReplyDeleteThe blog looks great! For some reason, the font I chose will only show up if I click refresh each time the page loads...any ideas how I can fix that?
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about that manger cake recipe? Sounds like it would be good! I always strive to have everything ready ahead of time too, but doesn't happen too much.
December already..wow..where has the time gone? Love your folder! Here, Liam returns to class tomorrow and finals will be coming up soon, in 2 weeks. Still awaiting the dr. appointment to Rochester. I pray it won't be during finals. ANYWAYS..Prayerfully, you will share more of your Christmas- holiday preparations. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI love your new Christmasy look! November flew by and now it's time to get super organized for December. Looks like you're way ahead!
ReplyDeleteI've loved your "folder" posts from the beginning! I will miss them! :) It sounds like you had a lovely Thanksgiving. We did too. After a "let's wait and see" approach to me hosting, my parents decided to go ahead and come to KC since Mary Catherine was feeling better. It was a lovely weekend. Love the new monthly look to the blog! Hugs
ReplyDeleteI've loved your year of folders and I'm loving the blog background! Hope you all had a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everybody, always look forward to your folder posts! Been on a blog break, so much to catch up with!
ReplyDeleteI love the new blog look and I LOVE your folder posts!
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo! Your December folder is full of fun things to do! I know I have to get going on presents and cards. I love sending out Christmas cards, don't you? It just takes a while to write them...I think I'll commit to doing a few a day so it's not so overwhelming :)
ReplyDeleteHave a good Monday, my friend!

Oh, my gosh, I took out my folders, yesterday, yep, there are 2 for December!! It's jam packed with things to do! Wish mine was neat and tidy like yours!
ReplyDeleteDecember is so full of fun things, and no time to blog it!
I'm interested in that Manger cake recipe....we bake a cake on Christmas Eve called "Midnight Bliss". It's pure chocolate heaven. Midnight, because Jesus was born at Midnight...
It's so Christmassy here, I love it!
I've enjoyed each month looking inside your folder! You plan to be done by Dec. 17th??? You go girl! I'm going to try that, too. Although I haven't started any of it yet, so it's not looking very promising. Enjoy every moment!
ReplyDeleteI like to get Christmas preparations finished early too...makes the week of Christmas so much more enjoyable. It is always fun to take a peek inside your monthly folder. Have a great December.
ReplyDeleteI am soooo determined to get it all done and wrapped early this year!!
ReplyDeleteI think I can I think I can!
thank you for sharing again!
