Monday Morning Coffee

Good Monday Morning, and Happy Labor Day! Although not technically the end of summer, Labor Day always means the start of fall to me. I suppose this is fair because I consider Memorial Day the beginning of summer, even though the calendar says otherwise. Ok, moving on, we did so much this weekend that I will be doing minimal labor today! Peyton and Chris came for the weekend! And sadly, Rhett is missing from the pictures because he is not feeling well. He was back home surrounded by medication, fluids, and his favorite blanket. Kyrstin had work, but she took good care of him when she didn't. And, of course, I may have called a few too many times!

First up, we went boating! Not to be confused with boating at the lake, we went for a boat ride and a swim in the bay here! Captain Steve did great maneuvering through the Labor Day Weekend traffic on the water, and we enjoyed lunch and a swim for the first time in the bay.

There was some minigolf, too! I am absent from these photos because I sat this one out. A little-known fact about me: I strongly dislike minigolf. Like, really! I don't know why, but it may have something to do with the amount of waiting that occurs. I'm just saying.

There was breakfast at home: Mickey Waffles, just like they have at Disneyworld, the freshest peaches, blackberries, and blueberries, and freshly squeezed orange juice. The waffle maker is from Williams Sonoma and is worth every cent!

There were dinners out...

At one,  my firstborn and I unknowingly matched, and ice cream every night!

Today, I plan on decorating for fall, then sitting with a cup of coffee and doing some blog reading! Have a wonderful day and a great week, my friends!

Happy September!!!

Billie Jo

  2. Mini golf: Not my favorite, either. My neck and shoulders get tired from having to look down so much, and all the standing around. I'm with you on that.

    Enjoyed all your pictures!

  3. I remember doing golf like that at a park we were at with family. Our 2 older grandchildren were able to do it with us. We're at home today and I will most likely play a game with Phil this afternoon. Megan's going to eat lunch with her brother today. Thanks for what you've done with family lately and photos 📸. Have a good week!!

  4. Absolutely wonderful, my friend. Hey Peyton and I have the same red blouse (from Old Navy?) I have to say it looks much better on her than me, smiles. I hope Rhett gets to feeling better soon. smiles

We have a good amount of covid going on around our area. Sounds like a very fun weekend...I mean, ice cream, burgers, swimming and hanging out with family = FUN. Enjoy your day today....relax and spend time for just you.

  17. I ao enjoyed seeing the photos of your fun weekend with your kids. I'm sorry Rhett wasn't able to be there, but hopefully he's feeling better. Your boat photos remind me of our days at the lake, memories for me that are never too far away and it doesn't take much to bring them to the forefront.
I especially like the one with you and your girls. Gorgeous...all of you. Such blessings they are to you and Steve.
Dennis and I are at the State Park near us in our camper for a few days. It was supposed to be a relaxing getaway, but we woke up this morning to the bathroom floor flooded. Dennis thinks the shower is leaking somewhere so he's investigating that this morning. Well, he does like projects. :-)
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  20. Mickey waffles, how delightful! I'll have to tell the girls about that waffle maker, they love Disney! The burgers look really good. Great family photos, and I really like Peyton's blouse. I hear ya about mini golf, or just golf in general. I never understood the enthusiasm. I hope Rhett is feeling better. Now that he's back home, I'm sure his mama is taking great care of him.

Happy September Billie Jo! I look forward to seeing all your Fall lovelies around your home.

  21. Hi Billie Jo~ Oh my gosh, it looks like you had a wonderful Labor Day!! The boating, swimming, family time, food (adorable waffles), ice cream, it all looked like so much fun! I'm with you though, I don't like golf, mini or otherwise... 🫢 I always love to see photos of you and your girls, you are all beautiful. I'm decorating tomorrow, if I have time. I do have a few things out, but I'm not finished yet! And yes, Labor Day to me is the beginning of fall ;0) Hugs, Barb

  23. Can you link the waffle maker to this post? I looked for it on the Williams Sonoma site and couldn’t find it.

    1. I'm sorry. It says it is no longer available. I bought it last year in November for Christmas. Maybe they will restock? If not, here is a link to a similar one on ebay. Hope that helps!
