Monday Morning Coffee Talk

Good Monday morning, my friends! Welcome to the last few days of August! I am patiently waiting for September to pull out the autumn decorations, but you bet I am all ready to go! I am pretending it is not 90 degrees outside today, by the way.

Yesterday, I did some deep cleaning upstairs, especially in my bedroom. Suddenly, I needed to scrub, dust, wash, and shine. This does not happen often, but when it does, it is productive. The kids always know I am in the zone when I head upstairs with all my things and a Bluetooth speaker. In case you are sitting there wondering what I have on my fall playlist, and I am sure you are, I am sharing it below. LOL! When I was done, I set a few decorations on my bedside table. You know, just a ceramic pumpkin. And a candle. And my autumn books. : )

That is about all for today, my friends. The rest of the day will involve lesson plans for homeschool next week, laundry, and some stuffed peppers with mashed potatoes for dinner. We will finish the day with our guilty pleasure, The Bachelorette because although I would not want my daughters to find their husbands on television, I am not above watching others who do.

Have a wonderful Monday. And thank you to all who commented on my last post. I am always so thankful for the support. I read and appreciate them all! This blog world is a fantastic place, isn't it? We have a place to share ideas, encourage, and support each other in a safe and cozy place. Thanks for stopping in!

  1. You need to add September by Earth Wind and Fire.
I love it when I get in those motivated everything must be cleaned moments.
It is warm today but the rest of the week cools off and I am so happy. Enjoy your week!!

  3. Oh how I love your music playlist! I know I should figure out how to make myself one now that we don't listen to our IPODS as much. Happy Monday!

  4. I'm smiling at the little ways you are helping fall along. I can relate. I am SO over hot weather at this point. Your little doggy is so adorable. I just went back to read your previous post. I applaud you for being open and honest. I think many of us struggle with different issues and it's easy to feel like we are alone in our struggles. Happy for your supportive friends and family and I know you must feel a weight off now that the mammogram has been done.

  6. While spring and summer are definitely my favorites, I do enjoy decorating for fall. But I don't start until mid to late September usually because it will still be so hot here! It feels weird having a pumpkin on the front porch when it's still in the upper 80s! :) So it looks like you like Taylor Swift as much as Madison does!

  8. Hi Billie Jo~ Well, you inspired me...I need to get something done today! Instead, I'm reading ;0) What a cute little pumpkin sitting by your bed, I can hardly wait to get my fall decorations out...it's time! Hugs, Barb

  9. Great playlist! I've been enjoying the last of the summer time weather playing with my grandchildren. I used to be a Bachelor/ette fan, but I lost interest when it started to be really predictable.

  11. Hi! I love your pumpkin mug! It reminds me that cozy season is right around the corner and I'm so excited for it! I also got into a cleaning mood yesterday in our bedroom. I had my husband move a few pieces of furniture so I could vacuum under and behind them - it's definitely been a while. Have a good evening. Your dinner sounds yummy!

  12. Oh, how sneaky, just getting out those fall faves a little at a time! It is SO hot today, hard to even imagine autumn is just around the corner. I agree: when you have that itch to clean, you had better clean! I didn't comment on your mammogram post, but hugs to you. I have some issues with anxiety about these things too, and it's not fun. I'm super glad for you that you have coping mechanisms and a support system, good! Enjoy your cozy evening! And shh, I've been enjoying pumpkin spice coffee already!

  13. Go Billie Jo! Go Billie Jo! Go Billie Jo (insert doing mixer dance here - Lol). I love when I get those moments of pure motivation too! Always gotta roll with it. And I must tell you that you have exquisite taste in music Madam. The only thing I would add to that list is some Celtic music- it's always very Fall to me. I hope you have a very blessed week ahead!

  15. Love that playlist! I'm "patiently" waiting for September to decorate as well. I'm not holding off on pumpkin spice flavored foods, though. I've got pumpkin bread, pumpkin cookies, and pumpkin-spice English muffins in the pantry!

  16. Hi Billie Jo! We are supposed to have several days OVER 100 here this week, so I will have to pretend we have cooler almost fall temperatures too. I see from your playlist that you are a Taylor Swift fan. Me too! I hope you have a wonderfully productive week with some time to relax! Good luck with your lesson planning for the coming school year! See you again soon!

  17. It's always exciting to feel that first hint of fall in the air. Our mornings are just a bit cooler these days. Thanks for sharing your playlist!

  18. Oh my gosh, your doggie is soooooo cute! And tiny! Interesting playlist, even though I don't think I know any of those songs. I listen to oldies so much that I don't even know any current music. LOL

I need to do some major cleaning but keep avoiding it. The dusty cobwebs along the ceilings are mocking me at this point. Ugh. My grandma always cleaned hers by pinning an old dishtowel over her broom, and that's what she taught me to do. These days I'm feeling like getting one of those extending Swiffer dusters is the way to go! I keep telling myself I'll get one next time I'm shopping, and I never do. Doh!

  20. I don't really listen to much contemporary music, but I thought I'd mention you got me to listen to Harry Styles once - and several songs in one sitting. I was surprised how much I enjoyed listening to him. I need to get some special cleaning done before hand surgery soon. I'll just hate it if I let the opportunity pass and I then find myself sitting there one-handed for several weeks unable to knock cobwebs down or manage a vacuum. Next week is cleaning week for me, I think!

  21. I love that ceramic pumpkin! And I concede, I am also ready for autumn now, I just wish I was experiencing some of your productivity. Xx

  22. I always chuckle when I see your coffee cups - THEY ARE THE CUTEST! And I really like this one! One single pumpkin, a candle, and books is a great start to your decorating. I put my Fall stuff out last week, and realized I don't have much - I must get more. Good for you for doing some deep down cleaning - it's not easy and tires us out, but it sure feels good afterwards. You can always tell how loved your dogs are by them sleeping so peacefully. ; )
