Weekend Plans And Pumpkin Spice Latte

I don't know about you, but I am finding things a bit more confusing than the norm lately. We literally just celebrated Halloween, Election Day turned into Election Week/Month, Christmas music is on the radio, and here in Pennsylvania, it is going to be 70 degrees for the next week. Well, they say, when life gives you lemons, right?

This week I packed fall and Halloween away, and we are currently living in a bare and dusty space. I plan on slowly giving the house a good cleaning with a rag and some Murphys Oil Soap, which always instantly transports me home to my mom's house when I was young, and waiting until it appears to resemble November outside until I pull out the Christmas tubs.

I may or may not put on the Christmas music, and I may or may not check in with the news on tv. I will most certainly put some Pumpkin Spice Latte in the crockpot this weekend so the family can have some when they come back in from packing away all the summer and fall items on our porch and deck. Summer weather in early November makes things like outdoor cleanup much easier.

If you would like to treat your family, or even yourself, here is a delicious recipe for homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte that even those who don't like coffee will enjoy! Right, Marian and Peyton??? I got this recipe from a culinary school a few years ago. Enjoy!

Pumpkin Spice Latte

8 cups milk (I used Almond Milk.)
6 cups freshly brewed coffee
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 cup sugar
2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 cinnamon stick

In your crockpot, whisk everything together, then add the cinnamon stick. Cover and cook on High for 2-4 hours. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.

I am feeling in limbo too. It's 70 degrees today. What?? I was ready to put up Christmas but now I just can't do it until it gets chilly. What a world. Talk soon. Miss you! xoox

  4. Yes! It's been in the 70s here and it's so refreshing. I love the cool crisp fall, but with sunlight being fleeting I am just fine with having some wonderful outdoors time. Raking leaves is so much better when your fingers don't hurt from the cold!

  10. The world has felt weird for a year and I'm so ready for God to make it all more normal again! Lol But I feel He has a message in it all and I've been really trying to use this time to evaluate priorities, the ways I want to grow closer to Him and my loved ones and my community. Do more of what I'm able to add good to this nation. I'm thinking on Thanksgiving and being grateful for so many blessings even amongst the crazy. Still choosing all things Fall and keeping things up until after Thanksgiving. But I am listening to Christmas music. I never get enough of it in the short season. 😉
That recipe sounds ah-mazing!! Thanks for sharing dear Friend. Have a blessed week ahead. xoox
