We were thankful to our wonderful parish priest for offering Mass online, which we attended from the comfort of our living room.
I dug out the special candles I was keeping for something. Because if not now, when? I light one and let it burn all day as a reminder for us to walk through light and not through fear.
I got up today, walked into the kitchen, and as I was getting my coffee, I thought about how pre-Corona Mondays were filled with to-do lists and family members getting off to work. Now, we slow down, check the latest news on tv, and plan for a day spent at home.
What does that even mean? What exactly is this we are living through? Although it seems surreal, it isn't. This is real life. For now. Not forever. I encourage my family to take it day by day. Looking beyond right now, where the only certain thing is uncertainty, is just too daunting.
So today, I got dressed. I fixed my hair. I made my bed. Later, I will teach school and do laundry. I will plan dinner. I will enjoy time spent with my loved ones here in our home. And I will call friends and family we miss. I will also watch the daily news conference and wipe things down with Clorox. I will spray Lysol before I go to bed. This is the new normal. For now. Not forever.
Have a cozy day, my friends.
Thanks for visiting!
