Peyton spoiled Flynn on her last day of 3rd Grade. We celebrated the release of Toy Story 4 with a fun cupcake party before the movie, which was received with mixed reviews here. The adults loved it; the kids were a bit disappointed with the ending. But it was fun just the same!
Our flowers are doing beautifully! Some of our vegetables are peeking out too. And I am eating garden lettuce every single day. We spent an afternoon with my beautiful mother in her lovely assisted living home. Isn't she the sweetest?! And recently, we enjoyed a visit with an awesome friend and her hubby who were passing through on their way to a dream vacation.
We wrapped up our Fourth of July festivities with dinner and dessert before the fireworks on Saturday night. And of course, we get dressed for Mass and dinner on Saturday nights.
In my experience, summer flies by after the Fourth of July. So enjoy each day, rain or shine! And don't be too sad. Because...
All of this is coming right behind!
Aweeeee how sweet!!! I can't believe Flynn will be in the 4th grade!!! Where has time gone, Billie Jo?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the warm welcome back to Blogger, smiles...and yes, your friend has the perfect shirt on; Say yes to new adventures.LOVE,LOVE, LOVE IT! You prob. heard that squeal all the way from western NY, smiles.
I too loved the tee shirt your friend was wearing, I will always say yes to a new adventure. We have yet to see the new Disney Toy Story film but 4 out of the 6 grandchildren have with mixed reviews. Those cupcakes look delicious.
ReplyDeleteYou (and Peyton) always find the best ways to celebrate the fun stuff! We haven't seen Toy Story 4 yet since movies are a treat for our kids and I think they'd rather see The Lion King. (The adults are firmly in the Toy Story 4 camp.) Have a wonderful Monday my friend!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've had a terrific summer so far. It certainly is flying by it seems. And I'm not sure why but I find I'm sort of craving a cupcake after reading your post...Hope you have another wonderful summer Monday today!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about time flying! I feel like after school starts it's about 3 days til Christmas. I've been meaning to ask, where do you get your Rae Dunn? I found some on Amazon but selection is not good and the prices are a little ridiculous sometimes.
ReplyDeleteLooks like your summer is off to a wonderful start! Hope to see Toy Story 4 soon... they always do a great job with those movies. Enjoy the rest of your day!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Jill
Summer does seem to fly by so we best enjoy every single day and sounds like you have so far.
ReplyDeleteLove the peek into your summer! Enjoy it alllll
ReplyDeleteHurray for Flynn!! And what a fun way to celebrate the end of a school year and the beginning of summer. I'd love to see Toy Story 4 but that means I'd have to binge 2 and 3. How wonderful you are eating straight from the garden, fresh lettuce everyday, yum!! Your flowers are bursting with color, so pretty!! You and your mom share the same lovely smile and I love your friends shirt. How exciting for them to go on a dream vacation !
ReplyDeleteHappy Summer!

Our daughters will both be in fourth grade next year - so hard to believe! I agree that summer does fly by after the fourth of July. Enjoy every minute of it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulation to Flynn on finishing 3rd Grade. What a wonderful way to celebrate and Peyton always seems to make the most drool worthy cakes. Enjoy the rest of Summer and the anticipation on Autumn. xx Susan
ReplyDeleteOh Billie Jo, I just love how you make life so special. You seem to have a way of making everyday life just a bit magical. I so love visiting your blog. Hugs to you. ~Juli
ReplyDeleteI just love to see your life in photos! YOur Mom is so adorable btw. 😉 And I love that you aren't afraid to reference a little Fall ever. You are my seasonal soul Sister!!! Lol 🍁 xoxo
ReplyDeleteI confess I purchased something from the fall section of Hobby Lobby today. And I'm not ashamed to admit it. Bring it on! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love how you celebrate! It looks like I'll have to wait for Toy Story 4 for when it's streaming. Or can a 51 year old woman go see that without kids? Your MOM is adorable; just like you.
ReplyDeleteHappy summer!
I love everything about this!!! Summer so far is looking great and still so much more to look forward to!!! : )
ReplyDeleteLittle Flynn done with 3rd grade! Time is flying! Love your photos and update. Toy Story 4 had same reviews from me and Maddie! Have a great day sweetie!
ReplyDeleteSummer will be over for us in about 3 weeks -- where did it go? I did not care much for the whole Forky story line, although I do have a kid who would latch on to the weirdest things!!
ReplyDeleteI love those cupcake toppers in the first picture! So precious. You gave me the idea of ordering something like that to kick off the school year. Thanks, Billie!! I hope your summer continues to go well :)
