Madison and Alan have not always been as close. Their friendship was tested with what we refer to as "The Four Square Ball Incident". When they were in second grade, all the kids played a game called Four Square. (I had no idea then...and still have no idea now how it works...) They always played at recess and used a regular gym ball. One day, I found an official Four Square ball. Madison was thrilled! She could not wait to take it to school. The very first day she took it to school, I picked her up and she was in tears. Apparently, a certain someone kicked the ball into the road when it was promptly run over by the ATA bus. And that was the end of the Four Square ball.
Well, according to Madison, mean Alan did it on purpose. And that has been her story all these years. Tonight, we finally heard Alan's version. He remembered very clearly that he bounced the ball, and it accidentally went into the road. Whatever happened, I am glad they made up in time to attend Mass, dinner, and the dance tonight! : )
Here are some pictures of their special night...
The dress...
the shoes...fit for dancing, of course...
the flowers...
so pretty! : )
All ready to go!
And as I type...they are dancing the night away. And I am drinking an extra cup of coffee, so I can stay awake until they return at 11:00! ; )
I totally understand trying to stay awake until the kids come home from the dance. We have done that many times. Your daughter looks so cute and her dress is very feminine and modest. I love the modest length. Such a cute couple. So glad they made up at last! Have a fun week.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty girl and love her dress and shoes. That seems to be the 'going' thing to wear in footwear. Glad the two made peace and I know they had a good time. I can relate to that extra cup of coffee, and the reason for it!
ReplyDeleteI am smitten by the dancing shoes - great choice and beautiful girl!
