The weekend is here! We have a busy and happy one coming up, as Flynn receives her Confirmation on Sunday. She and I have been preparing all year, and she is ready! She has chosen Peyton as her sponsor. If you think of it, please send a prayer or a good wish for her. I will share pictures on Monday.
In other news, spring is slowly making her presence known here in Pennsylvania. I know this by the tiny buds appearing on the trees, and the bottles of allergy medicine sitting on the counter. It sure is pretty, though.
We went to Peyton's yesterday for lunch, and outside her door, I saw this.
Which, of course, made me think of this...
Which makes me realize just how quickly time passes. And how unreal and rude that actually is! It's a good thing I was sure to be present in every single one of those moments, and that I have all the beautiful photos to remember them by. You knew where I was going with this, right, Madeline???
Steve was in Pittsburgh this week and sent me a photo from a bakery like I've never seen. He also brought a delicious cake that we took to Heather and Dave's for dessert.
A reminder to all the women reading that it is perfectly acceptable to treat yourself every now and then to a little something that makes you happy. Case in point: I was ordering T-shirts for Flynn online and decided to get one for myself. It's soft and fun, and it makes me happy.
One last happy thing! If you know who these people are, we are automatically best friends! This show was my very favorite all through high school and college. It was on Thursday nights, and when it was over, I felt like I had lost my best friends. I know...sad. But true. Anyway, it has never been released beyond the first season. I have been waiting since 1993 to rewatch it. And guess what? It is finally on Amazon Prime Video! All the seasons!
Yep. Knots Landing. It's Dallas, only not fancy, pretentious, and absurd. It takes place in a cul-de-sac with neighbors and slightly more everyday people who come over for coffee. It's still a bit absurd, but why watch if it wasn't?
Have a wonderful weekend, my friends.
Thank you for reading!

Best wishes to Flynn, on her Confirmation! I was disappointed when the church started the practice of combining First Communion and Confirmation. The latter is such a lovely sacrament and felt so appropriate for when my kids were a bit older. Blessings to all of you on Flynn's big day!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness....we faithfully watched Knots Landing!! lol. Madelines is a great place and my friends and I go there for lunch...Sam, not a fan! He said it's too feminine! Big laughs at that!! Prayers for Flynn on her Confirmation. Hope you all enjoy your busy weekend.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to Flynn on her confirmation. Time does indeed fly by so yes, we have to embrace every moment.
ReplyDeleteThat bakery looks amazing. How could you possibly choose one cake in there?
I LOVE Kid Rock so of course I love the T-shirt. Wearing fun things is not just for the young.
I do remember watching Knot's Landing, good to know it's now on Amazon.
Enjoy your weekend Billie Jo!!
I DID know right where you were going. I am glad you bought something for you, it's fun to do that from time to time. And I have never seen Knot's Landing but I am always looking for a show so I will have to try it out!
ReplyDeleteOh Flynn, from dandelions to now, you've always found joy in the small things and I pray you always do. What a blessing to be confirmed on Divine Mercy Sunday! I will most certainly be praying for you!
Enjoy your special weekend! And, yes, it is pretty acceptable to treat ourselves once in awhile! I just might to that this weekend:) Blessings to you...and to Flynn.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your Flynn on her coming confirmation day! That bakery picture is pretty amazing. How could he just buy one thing? Or did he? LOL Kid in a candy shop would be me! Great photos and may God continue to shower you and your family with many blessings!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Flynn!
ReplyDeleteI love the pics of Peyton with the dandelions. Time does go too quickly and I'm glad you have pics to remember it.
The bakery looks incredible!
Blessings to Flynn on her upcoming Confirmation. I remember watching Knot's Landing. What an incredible picture of the bakery you shared! Simply wow! Have a beautiful weekend, Billie Jo.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous dandelion themed photos!! I love dandelions! To me, they are not weeds, they are wildflowers. I have never seen so many cakes & pies in one place!!
ReplyDeleteDandelion's are so important for honey bees. We try and eradicate them
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Flynn. Have a lovely family weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou may find this hard to believe but I've never watched either show.
ReplyDeleteI like dandelions - they look like yellow polk-a-dots on a green lawn. :)
Oh my that is lot of cakes and pies. I'd have a hard time choosing what I wanted!!!
That isn't Oakmont bakery is it? My daughter bakes for a bakery not far from us. She does beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteIndeed!
DeleteAww, sweet little Flynn! I pray all goes well with her confirmation, as I’m sure it will. A special time! I remember my mama watching Knots Landing when I was growing up. She loved all of the night time dramas, but I don’t think she watched Dynasty.
ReplyDeleteSending my very best wishes to Flynn on her confirmation. Xx
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to Flyn.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are wonderful Billy Jo!
Flyn's confirmation sounds good and she's in my prayers. Our flowering cherry tree is still blooming. 1st time it's stayed that long...got it 4 years ago. FYI pray for Betsy and Dennis as his mom died on Thursday night. 🙏 .
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Flynn! I remember my Confirmation. My grandmother was my sponsor. These years fly by so fast. I love the pictures of Flynn with the dandelion. I do love your shirt too. I can tell you're a pretty cool mom.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to pictures from Flynn's Confirmation. xx
ReplyDeleteThat show is how we spent our Friday nights in the 80's!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I am continually surprised by Flynn and how much she has grown. And I was reading your other post, and I am surprised that 4 years have passed regarding Peyton and Chris. Just wow. Wishing you a lovely week ahead. smiles
ReplyDeleteThere are bakeries & then there's BAKERIES - OH WOW - look at all the sweets!!!
ReplyDeleteKnots Landing! Man oh man - the memories of instructions of NOT to disturb my mom when that & Dallas was on!
