Friday Photos And Manger Cake

This week has been spent enjoying the simple joy of Christmastime, from the light of early morning to the darkness of an early night. Nothing exciting. Nothing pressing. Just normal days with a touch of Christmas sprinkled throughout.

If you are looking for an addition to your holiday dessert menu, you may want to give this one a try. We call it Manger Cake. A dear friend gave me the recipe years ago, and the kids and I used to make it as a birthday cake for Baby Jesus. Now, Peyton makes it for us as a weeknight treat. I have posted this before, but in case you missed it, here it is. Just click on this

Have a lovely weekend, my friends!
Christmas is near!

  1. Thank you for the recipe. It does look delicious. Your Christmas tree is stunning. I absolutely love your decorating style. Mine's more of a mish-mash. The tree has 65 year old ornaments and new ones. They are every color imaginable. And yes, I still put those foil icicles on it because the kids would have a fit if I didn't.
Enjoy your Christmas preparations my friend.
    Blessings and hugs

  10. I like what you said about the simple joys of Christmas. We, (or at least I) often get so caught up in what I need to do, that I miss those simple joys. And all those things are really not so important.
The cake looks good! I'm going to try it - but no walnuts for us. Looks like a winner!
