Cozy Dinnertime!!

What's that, you ask? Cozy dinnertime? Indeed. It is time. The temperature here in Pennsylvania has dipped enough for the annual switch from summer dinners to cozy, fall ones. First up, Irish Stew!

We enjoyed this last night with some store-bought loaves of sourdough bread. It was delicious! The recipe is found HERE. I followed it completely, except I realized all the boxes in the pantry were chicken broth, not beef broth. According to Madison, that made it even better!

In other news,

I lit the candle this morning,

Poured my coffee and sat by the fire,

Because. Snow. And...cozy.

Have a lovely day, my good friends. How are you enjoying this October day? And, if you get tired of me and my cozy, please let me know. I'll stop. Maybe. : )

  1. It's been cold here this week so we had red beans and rice Monday and beef chili last night. Your Irish stew looks good, I may have to give that a try.
    Enjoy your cozy day!!

  5. It's snowing already, how wonderful! It doesn't snow here until November, but it sure is getting colder in the mornings. Your Irish stew looks delicious, and with sourdough bread, even better. I love that big orange pumpkin on your fireplace. Love your cozy posts, Billie Jo. The home is my favorite place to be. ; )

  6. Never tired of your cozy...don't even think about stopping! It's rainy here and the wind from the north is sooooo cold. My instinct tells me a cold winter...we'll see. No matter to me, would love to be snowed in! The stew looks wonderful, ahhh, those cozy homecooked meals are the best. Mary

  18. I enjoyed a very similar dish myself last night. I just love how you've decorated the fireplace and I think I might just 'borrow' your idea. I have something arriving next week, which will set it off perfectly ;)

  19. Wow...snow!!! My daughter showed me a photo from news that there's snow in mountains east of us. We're going to have rain Friday morning and thru the weekend. Hopefully the areas that have fire will be taken care of with the rain as well. Stay warm and cozy. I had a blanket over my legs this evening when Phil and I were watching a show on a DVD. Have a good weekend.
