What's that, you ask? Cozy dinnertime? Indeed. It is time. The temperature here in Pennsylvania has dipped enough for the annual switch from summer dinners to cozy, fall ones. First up, Irish Stew!
We enjoyed this last night with some store-bought loaves of sourdough bread. It was delicious! The recipe is found HERE. I followed it completely, except I realized all the boxes in the pantry were chicken broth, not beef broth. According to Madison, that made it even better!
In other news,
I lit the candle this morning,
Poured my coffee and sat by the fire,
Because. Snow. And...cozy.
Have a lovely day, my good friends. How are you enjoying this October day? And, if you get tired of me and my cozy, please let me know. I'll stop. Maybe. : )
It's been cold here this week so we had red beans and rice Monday and beef chili last night. Your Irish stew looks good, I may have to give that a try.ReplyDelete
Enjoy your cozy day!!
Oh don't ever stop showing us your cozy....and your snow! I love it when I see your pics. And we have a cooler day today so I will join you in a cozy day with a roast in the crockpot to enjoy later!ReplyDelete

Hi Billie Jo~ Snow!? I heard on the news that it was going to snow in your part of the country, it looks beautiful. We are still in the mid 70's here, but hoping for cooler temps this week-end. Thanks for the Irish stew recipe, it looks delicious. Looking forward to more cozy posts from you. Hugs, BarbReplyDelete
It's snowing already, how wonderful! It doesn't snow here until November, but it sure is getting colder in the mornings. Your Irish stew looks delicious, and with sourdough bread, even better. I love that big orange pumpkin on your fireplace. Love your cozy posts, Billie Jo. The home is my favorite place to be. ; )ReplyDelete
Never tired of your cozy...don't even think about stopping! It's rainy here and the wind from the north is sooooo cold. My instinct tells me a cold winter...we'll see. No matter to me, would love to be snowed in! The stew looks wonderful, ahhh, those cozy homecooked meals are the best. MaryReplyDelete
That looks like a lovely winter scene, not Halloween! Feeling lucky for warm weather in Maine.ReplyDelete
Snow?! Oh my! Well, I guess it is that time of year where you are. Enjoy it, my friend!ReplyDelete
Do you want to know something funny? As soon as I wrote my post, I jumped up and thought it's PAST time to get the roast in the crock pot! I guess you saved my supper! lol Smells good in here now though!ReplyDelete

I don't think it's possible to get tired of your coziness. The snow, however, you can keep. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday evening!ReplyDelete
I like cozy! Snow, not so much! Thankfully, even though it's cold here, no snow yet!ReplyDelete
Cozy sounds perfect to me.ReplyDelete

Snow?!?!!! Oh my goodness! Already? Wow. Your day looks so cozy and the stew looks wonderful! Stay warm!ReplyDelete
I enjoyed a very similar dish myself last night. I just love how you've decorated the fireplace and I think I might just 'borrow' your idea. I have something arriving next week, which will set it off perfectly ;)ReplyDelete
Wow...snow!!! My daughter showed me a photo from news that there's snow in mountains east of us. We're going to have rain Friday morning and thru the weekend. Hopefully the areas that have fire will be taken care of with the rain as well. Stay warm and cozy. I had a blanket over my legs this evening when Phil and I were watching a show on a DVD. Have a good weekend.ReplyDelete
