Randomness Is Happiness

Steve and I went to a beautiful outdoor wedding of the son of our very dear friends. It was the most beautiful, romantic, enjoyable wedding we have attended in so long. The attention to detail was incredible, and the food was amazing. But most wonderful of all was sharing the day with people so dear to us. Thank you, Arnie and Paula, for including us in your beautiful family day.

My little shadow abandoned me last night. I couldn't find her anywhere until Flynn spotted her on Rhett's bed, waiting for him to come home.

Late summer offers so much beauty. And I appreciate it.
But...
Does anyone know what movie this iconic scene is from???
Come on, you know you do!

Thanks for all the wishes for Flynn. She is on the mend, and after a few nights slathered in Vicks, she is sleeping better and eating again. I read her all your comments, and she was so appreciative!

Have a cozy Wednesday, my friends. It is an all-day rain event here. So we are all cozy and warm. Steve has a business dinner tonight, so no cooking for me! Any suggestions???

Thanks for visiting.
I promise I will be around to visit with you all soon.

Billie Jo

  1. I am so glad to read that Flynn is on the mend. It's my day off today, so I am making Shepherd's Pie, it is a very rainy day here in the Southern Tier of NY (and very humid). I hope you have a beautiful day, friend.

  3. That's Jamie Lee Curtis in "Halloween" I think. Not my type of movie - I'm more of a princess bride sort of girl.

  4. I'm glad Flynn is feeling better and I'm sorry I missed the post about her being sick. I'm not on here too much these days.

  5. I'm happy to hear that Flynn is better! Weddings are so different these days. So much creativity and joy. So glad you enjoyed yourself. It's quite humid and rainy here as well. Enjoy your no cooking night. Maybe you have a pizza in the freezer or you can order in.

  6. Hi Billie Jo - all day rain here too - actually started last night. Glad that Flynn is better. Sounds like a lovely wedding. That is a cute picture of your puppy and a lovely sky. Leftovers tonight for us and that is just fine with me. Have a good Thursday tomorrow. :-)

  7. Hi Billie Jo~ Nothing better than a beautiful wedding, a cute puppy and a gorgeous sunset! Big hugs to Flynn, I'm happy she is feeling better. I'm definitely ready for Fall...have been since the first of August. It's been rainy and cold all day, with the highs in the lower 60's...it didn't make me sad ;0) Tonight, we had baked potatoes, beef stroganoff, crookneck squash and home grown tomatoes...yum! Enjoy the rest of your week!

  8. I'm so glad you were able to attend such a lovely outdoor wedding, I love to see all the different styles of decor people use. They are always so creative. Ok, Now I'm a Halloween girl myself but Billie jo its just not time yet. I'm not done with summer haha I didn't read the post about dear sweet Flynn but I'm glad she's on the mend. I love how Mocha is waiting for her boy to come home, dogs are the best!
    Take care my friend

  9. Sad to read that Flynn was not feeling good but glad she is feeling better. Weddings are fun to go to and enjoy the company and cake, which is my favorite thing to eat. We went to a wedding some years ago and waited for an hour and still the cake was not cut so Phil said we needed to leave, as it was time to get out of the crowd, as he can only stand it for so long. Sad! Ok I did survive though :.> Send some of your rain to Oregon as we've not hod much at all lately.

  12. What a lovely table setting at the wedding. It looks like hand sanitizers were placed there, what a great idea. That little doggy on Rhett's bed looks so cute. And a beautiful Summer sky. I really wish we had some of your rain. We really need it here. Have a good rest of the week, Billie Jo.

  13. So glad Flynn is on the mend! As much as I love Halloween, I have no clue what movie that is! You might laugh at this but true story! The last scary movie I watched which was called Fired in the Sky! It had me so scared that I wouldn’t go outside when it got dark for over a year & had to sleep with a night light.. I was 20 years old! LOL.. They literally terrify me! Hope you enjoyed being off dinner duty! I was off dinner duty too cause we are in the middle of renovating out living room! So we had Taco Bell :)
    Blessings,
    Lisa

  15. I love your blog! I'm glad Flynn is getting better, and that wedding, wow, so lovely! I love those no-cooking nights...I love cooking, but not every single night! I'm here in California for a visit with my son and son-in-law, and they cook amazing food, I'm getting spoiled! I am more of a summer girl than autumn, but I do admit to looking forward to the crispness, the colors, and the sweaters!
