Normal Is Nice

This past week has been blissfully normal. January is always nice and normal, don't you think? I like the certainty of structure for a bit. I know I will homeschool, meal plan, make dinner, read, watch new episodes of favorite shows, and surround myself with cozy.

This week our house became clean and less cluttered, our meals simple but delicious, and our time casual and cozy. Steve and I ventured out for a coffee date and grocery pickup, but other than that, it was quiet and normal. And good. I am savoring these weeks of normal. And looking ahead to all the festivities yet to come. An upcoming holiday post coming soon!

Have a nice weekend, friends.
Thanks for visiting!

  1. Yes, normal is nice, Billie Jo. And it's been hectic moving in January, but it's been wonderful at the same time because I love my mountain home. That's so special that you got to spend some time with each other on your coffee date. So many delightful things happen over coffee. ; ) And Flynn looks so comfy sitting there with the blanket by the tree next to the dog. Your candles are cozy and nice all around your house. Have a peaceful weekend, my friend.

  4. Yes, even though I love holidays, normal is my favorite. (I know some are even quite fond of Advent and Lent but I truly adore Ordinary Time.)

  5. Sometimes when I've very busy (and stressed) I think to myself "I can't wait until life is boring again" because that's my favorite way to be. Normal cozy days at home are highly underrated : )
Have a good weekend! Miss you all SO much! xx

  6. I love normal too. Still working on cleaning the house, but I'll get there! :) And is it just me, or does it seem like Flynn has aged 3 years in the past year? She is just looking like such a young lady now and not a little girl.

  7. I am a fan of normal and crave the pre pandemic days of normal when you could go out for coffee and supplies without the constant handwashing and masks. Like you I am enjoying the normal of our cosy cottage.

  8. I think normal is very much under-rated, maybe not so much anymore now that we're in a pandemic. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  11. Awww Flynn is a beauty and I've never seen a young girl smile so big. Yay to normal. As much as I am not a fan of winter weather I do enjoy the comfort and coziness I get because of it. Winter is also a time of slower pace for us. Enjoy your weekend!

  12. First of all normal is a setting on your dryer, get it right my friend. I dislike January as it is cold and dark and we are socked in with no sunshine in this valley. I do like to have a new beginning for the year however. SO I guess I will call it a win.

  15. Finally took our decorations down... But tree is still up, for tonight anyway. Take the tree decorations off tomorrow, and next door grandson will bag it and take it upstairs for us. But we get one more evening, of enjoying its prettiness. -smile-

We really need the return of the small table and lamp there... For some much needed light, in that corner.

May I please ask something? Would it be possible for you, to make your print size, bigger? It is very, very, very tiny. And hard on my old eyes. -smile- So if it is not too much trouble, could you look into, making it a big bigger?

    Please and thank you.

    Warm Winter Wishes...

  17. Amen to that and couldn't agree more. Even with Annie's schedule being busy with hockey again, I am grateful for it because it feels like a bit of normal life again. Love your beautiful home and photos as always. 😍
