Monday Morning Coffee

Happy Monday morning, friends. I hope you had a cozy January weekend. I kind of liked these Monday posts during the Christmas season, so I thought I would continue them for a bit. Today I am having a cup of instant coffee. It is actually my all-time favorite, Maxwell House International French Vanilla Cafe. And yes, that is the light of the Christmas tree you see. Although everything else Christmas is packed away, the tree remains up for a few more weeks because we all enjoy the cozy lights during the evening.

I took last week to slowly put our house back together after all the fun of Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. I chose a room a day and packed up, dusted, mopped, and tidied. As much as I love ~love ~love holidays, I am ready for everything bare and clean! Speaking of clean, I am going to be totally real here because I am all for real. And if you are offended or disturbed by grossness, please skip the next photo!

Yes. That was indeed behind our family room end table. And that was not the only place that looked like that! But because there is enough yuck in the world, I will keep those photos to a bare minimum! Now we are clean and tidy and cozy as can be. Today Flynn and I return to homeschooling, and we are both looking forward to it. Dinner is Taco pie, steamed corn, and salad, followed by The Bachelor! A guilty pleasure, but one I will gladly own up to!

Have a cozy Monday, my friends.
Thanks for stopping by!

  2. It sounds like you have a super cozy day planned. My kind of day! I am missing the lights from our Christmas tree. I keep a strand of white lights around our set of french doors in the kitchen year round and turn them on most days. They make me very happy!

  3. Hi Billy Jo~

It really does sound like a cozy Monday...I love the Christmas tree lights by the way ;0) And, I guess as long as we have our furry little therapists living with us, we will find those little piles of fur. Mrs. Meyers is the best! January is the month to get back to "normal", enjoy it, it goes by too fast.

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

  4. Hooray! I loved your Monday coffee posts and hoped you'd continue with them :) We have a few (okay, a lot) of areas around here that look like your photo and are in need of a good cleaning. Today's focus is keeping the on-line school week kid on track and laundry so my areas might stay that way another day (or week) or two. Happy Monday!

  5. The lights are indeed a pleasure. Not so much all the dust, my cottage was a disgrace before I did some deep cleaning. Sounds like a cosy day planned.

When we are ready, they will go back upstairs.

  8. Aw yes, the cozy tree lights! Our tree had to go, it was losing needles. We still have some little fake trees around, they're winter decorations! We also have strings of white lights here and there, it makes it cozy with the fireplace on and a candle or two. We went outside for a brisk walk today, then back in for hot coffee...I don't mind winter! And those little dust bunny/furballs, we get those a-plenty, with two Labradors and two kitties! We just moved all the living room furniture and cleaned under it, wowza! It does feel good though!

  9. Giggling at the "gross" photo because yesterday we moved some big pieces of furniture that don't get moved often and ugh! the stuff that was under them and the cobwebs on the backs where I couldn't get to them. Ick!Ick!Ick! In response to your comment on my blog, no, I didn't know you had gone to Seton Hill. Small world isn't it? Rest easy and enjoy the week now that your place is all clean and free of gross stuff!

  10. You should see the dirt and mess that quickly accumulates in my house. It's a never ending project keeping everything tidy. I have all my decorations put away too. Hope you have an awesome week.

  11. It's a good time of year to do that extra cleaning...that's what I've been doing too. I had some baskets of fresh pine greenery that I dumped out today. Not quite fresh any more! Love your blog and the Monday morning coffee with you...or afternoon cup!

  12. It's lovely to visit your home today, Billie Jo. Those dust bunnies come no matter what. We put our decorations away last week but still have the outside flags that require my husband and his ladder. I cleaned out my makeup in my vanity and couldn't believe how much I threw away! Winter is a good time to tackle these projects. Stay safe and well, friend.

  13. Hi Billie Jo - All cleaned from Christmas here too. I have seen that Mrs. Meyer's cleaner in the stores and have wondered if it was good, so maybe I will give it a try. It's good to be back in blogland and to stop by and say hello!

  14. I am still taking Christmas down and my floors are just as bad. I think I can stuff a pillow with what is around the baby grand piano.

  15. oh boy, those dust bunnies. We all have them don't we? But you enjoyed the holidays and that's what matters, so now Mrs Meyers to the rescue. We still have our Christmas tree up too. It'll stay up all January and February. I've never seen a single episode of the The Bachelor. Enjoy. Happy new year to you and your family.

  19. Sorry, Billie Jo! That is "me" (Valerie) that left the "unknown" comment about Christmas trees. LOL I have kiddos zooming from home this week and using my laptop. I didn't realize I was still logged in under their gmail school account. Aaaargh! Pray for us. ;)

  20. Love these cozy posts. And I am going through closet by closet right now. Lol Purging, organizing and helping my brain feel more in order. Lol I kept several of the glow things up yet too. It helps with the long dark evenings. Let it glow! ✨

  21. I often wonder, "where on earth does she get those delightful cups?" haha This is a cute one, and I'm so glad you'll be doing your cozy Monday posts for awhile. I've actually had Maxwell House, and it's pretty good. I like to try all the coffees, and I've looked around for Hills Bros too (remember that?) but can't seem to find it. Your Christmas tree looks so lovely in the distance. I just LOVE that picture. It should be in a magazine. Enjoy your coffee, Billie Jo, and your clean house.

  22. Oh girl! You made me smile. I enjoyed it so very much. I do wish we lived close. I'd love to hang out with you. If you ever get to Missouri.... I'm in southwest Missouri, but I'd be glad to drive to meet you.
