From November To December

November is almost over, and we are moving into the merriest month of them all. We wished my beautiful firstborn a happy 23rd birthday this past week. I am so proud of the woman that tiny blessing wrapped in pink grew to become!

We also commenced our family movie night tradition. Flynn had first pick, and she chose Home Alone! Our snack...yep. Over the top ice cream sundaes. We had so much fun putting our devices away and simply watching a favorite movie together. You know. Like in the olden days.

And then we celebrated Thanksgiving. We started the day with a small breakfast of pastries...thank you, Pillsbury...and fresh fruit. We ended it with our family's amazing pumpkin pie. And in between, we enjoyed all the delicious turkey day food that for some odd reason, we only make one day a year. No pictures exist because let's face it. When you take four hours to cook a meal, and seven minutes to eat it, you want to enjoy every single one.

Now we have those transition days. The few days between Thanksgiving and back to work and school where we all exist in a turkey dinner, turkey sandwich, and turkey soup haze complete with television, online shopping, and naps. I hope you enjoy my friends!

  2. Happy birthday to Madison! Although there is a bit of sadness as our children grow up and leave the nest, it is such a joy to see the beautiful adults they become!! We celebrated a birthday this week too---Garrett's 28th!

I love the sundae snack! Quite often when my kids were growing up, and even every now and then these days, we have what we call "Sundae Sunday." Our DINNER consists of ooey, gooey sundaes. We do it on Sunday, of course. Not exactly healthy, but very fun.

    Blessings on your day,
    Patti

  3. I love your Thanksgiving breakfast! Yep totally agree about the time it takes to cook and then consume a Thanksgiving meal. Have a wonderful December filled with happiness and joy. Happy birthday to your 23-year-old. My Josh turned 23 last June. Interesting time of life for these young adults. Have a wonderful day, my friend.

  7. It sounds like you are off to a wonderful start to the Holidays. I love that you have Movie Night. We used to do that with our kids when they were younger, too. Such a special blessing to spend family time together.

We are all still stuffed but going out to Pizza Ranch to celebrate SweetCheeks turning 13 today. The years have flown by way too fast. xo Diana
