Friday!

We are in a transitory stage around here these days. Halloween is packed into orange and black tubs and back home in our little storage area in the basement. A few Thanksgiving items are scattered around, for although we celebrate that day wholeheartedly, we will decorate for Christmas before we eat our turkey and pumpkin pie. So right now our home is quite bare, and in need of a good dusting before we can pull out all the red and green.

I don't mind it though. Everything has a season, right? And this one is currently quiet and serene. We are schooling, snuggling, and eating hearty soups these dark and chilly days. The weekend will consist of Rhett's chicken parmesan, mass, the Hallmark Store Open House, movies on the couch, and the Steeler game.

What are your plans, my friends?
Whatever they are, I hope you enjoy!
Thanks for visiting!

  2. I need to put away my Halloween and you've inspired me to pull out some Thanksgiving stuff. The soup/stew looks amazing. I've always loved the Hallmark store!
We have 2 parties this weekend and I'm thrilled because it seems I'm the only one who ever has one. :)

  4. I love that poem! I could have written those same words myself!! It's a football weekend at my house too. We've got a high school football game to attend tonight. Meeting a bunch of friends for pizza beforehand, then heading to the game to cheer on their son. They made it to the playoffs! And then Boise State football tomorrow. We had tickets for the game, but we gave them away, as Gary has inventory at work this weekend, and he has no idea how long that will take. Did I ever tell you I grew up a major Steeler fan? We lived in the Burg during their 70's reign. I was in love with Lynn Swann and Terry Bradshaw in those days.

  9. This weekend we will wrap up a couple of outside things. Just in time as we have snow and cold, cold temperatures in the forecast for Monday. Then I will start putting away my fall decor and cleaning for the most wonderful time of the year.

  10. Billie, It's sounds so right at your house. We are still getting ready for winter, cleaning up the yard, putting things in the shed or lean too. We have a ton of work left to do. I am ready for a vacation. LOL I am dreaming now girl. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  11. Hi Billie Jo,
This weekend holds a pot of chili, cleaning, and prepping things for my surgery Monday. Everyone depends on me, but they'll have to take care of me for a week or two. I tried to do too much through cancer treatments, but I'm determined to rest and heal this time! It's another reconstruction revision.
    Prayer appreciated!
    Blessings,

  16. Billie Jo, I smiled so big when I saw the book, Cranberry Thanksgiving. I used to read it to the kids all the time. The "misty Autumn mornings" quote is delightful. Your soup looks do delicious. And a cute picture of your daughter and that sweet dog. : )
