It May Not Be Pinterest Worthy, But...

Pinterest food can be overrated, don't you think? When I look at some of those picture perfect photos of Halloween cupcakes decorated with upside down ice cream cones piped with icing to look like witch hats, I feel super inadequate. But then I think about it, and realize that stale ice cream cone would be ripped off and thrown aside and along with it all the icing. At least at my house.  : )

So if you are looking for a non-Pinterest worthy Halloween treat, look no further. Here are a few of our favorites. Nothing fancy, but yummy and festive just the same!

Perhaps our favorite Halloween meal...Candy Corn Pizza!
Easy and fun!

Peyton makes this yummy Spiderweb Munch every single year.

Stuffed Pepper Soup and Mummy Dogs are a favorite as well...

Simple chocolate cupcakes with orange icing and Halloween sprinkles are always a good idea...

And breakfast can be fun too! Some food coloring in the batter with mini chocolate chips on top make waffles spooky but yummy too!

The fun doesn't have to end when Halloween does!
Use that extra Halloween candy to make some Candy Bar Brownies!

Have I ever told you how much I love Halloween?!?!
Thanks for visiting, my friends.
Have a cozy day!

  1. Every year I adore that spiderweb munch and this may just be the year I get it together enough to make it! We like pumpkin pancakes with chocolate chip faces which I guess would actually make them jack-o-lantern pancakes!

  10. I love the idea of candy corn pizza!! I'll be making this next Friday for sure :) I'm right there with you on the elaborate desserts, I always pin them thinking that would be so cute but let's be real, I don't have the time to put all my energy into the perfect cake or cupcakes when all we care about is eating the darn thing and it tasting good!!

  11. I used to make mummy pizzas out of English muffins for my kids on Halloween right before they would go trick-or-treating! Simple and cute is waaaaaayyyy better than elaborate and overdone, in my humble opinion!

I agree, Pintrest is way over-rated!! I love your ideas, and they are ALL too good for Pintrest! I have tried a few things from Pintrest, and to tell you the truth, we really didn't like very many of them...:0/ Your candy corn pizza looks delightful...all of it looks delightful, who am I kidding!! Today I bought some, Pumkin Spice Gingersnaps and thought I was really going all out!

  18. So many adorable things for Halloween! Looks so yummy :-) We still have very warm temperatures here in the south so it doesn't really feel like fall yet. I'm not sure what kind of caterpillar that was in my last post, but I've heard some of them are poisonous so we observe but don't touch lol. :-) Thank you also for the kind words and support in regards to my mom. It has been very hard and I need all the prayers I can get. Have a great weekend!

    Blessings,
    Jill

  19. Great Halloween food ideas. I love Halloween as well and can't wait to make our spooky dinner. We don't get much trick or treaters due to our off the beaten path dark col de sac but some of my young friends will take pity on me and bring their kids by haha.
Have a great weekend Billie Jo
