Weekend Plans

Welcome to the weekend, my friends. A July weekend. And for us, a quiet one. Friday we are planning a simple meal of chicken on the grill and corn on the cob. Saturday we have Mass and then dinner out at one of our favorite places for appetizers and peanut butter pie. Do you ever do that? Just order appetizers and dessert? Or are we even weirder than I thought? Sunday I'm thinking of resurrecting our Sunday Brunch...waffles, eggs, toast, fruit, and sausage perhaps? Then later, the majority of the house is heading to the city to see Ed Sheeran in concert. Flynn and I are staying back for some "Just you and me" time. And that is what we are up to this weekend in our country home. But first, here are a few photos of the past week...

Steve agreed to a selfie on our way to our anniversary dinner last weekend...
Twenty-six years ago we wouldn't have imagined taking a picture on a phone in our car!

Like I mentioned...
We enjoyed appetizers and the BEST peanut butter pie.

We had some visitors in our backyard...

A mommy...

And her baby.

Here is my baby...
Helping paint Rhett's room.
Yep. His room was neon green.
His choice...as a seven year old.
Now...it is a muted grey/slate color.
And I love it.
Shout out to Marian for doing all the taping and some painting too!

Mocha.
Because. Puppies.

And my newest afternoon treat.
I love my afternoon coffee.
Now, I am loving this Mocha Iced Coffee!
Sooo good!

Afternoons on the porch with both my Mochas.
Summer is good.

How will you be spending your summer weekend, my friends?
Enjoy it with your people.
And thanks for stopping by!

  1. When I was in college, my girlfriends and I would go "desserting" going to multiple restaurants and just ordering desserts. Love the special Flynn and Mom time! We have a waffle party every two weeks and my kids LOVE it. Enjoy your Mochas and family time friend!

Oh, and PS. I know I didn't comment on your cruise post, but don't think I have forgotten about the 80's contest you took part in. I want details, my friend!! Wish I could have been there, whatever it is you were doing :)

  11. There are a lot of things we never dreamed of 26 years ago! We've been married 31 now. Hard to believe we have a 26 year old! Congratulations! Yes, we've gone out just for appetizers before. Sometimes they're yummier than the meal. They're usually so filling, you cannot order them with a meal, too, or there will be too much food!

Mocha is one of the cutest little dogs I've ever seen! What kind is she? I seem to remember Maltese and Yorkie?

    Happy weekend!

  15. Ordering appetizers and dessert is a wonderful idea. We rarely order dessert because we are stuffed by the end of the meal. There have been so many changes in the last 26 years. My daughter recently asked what new things we has seen in our life. I stated with microwaves and the VCR. When she said what is a VCR I felt really old. :) Your weekend sounds wonderful...enjoy!
