Christmas In July 2015

We celebrated Christmas in July on Saturday. And the kids loved it. Here is how we spent our day...pretending it was a cozy December afternoon instead of a hot one in July. : )

The kids awoke to a few small presents each...

then we baked sugar cookies. And it was fun, because we never do sugar cut-outs at Christmas. Just everything else. : )

We had a nice treat in the afternoon of cookies, tea, and milk...

and finished off the night after Mass and dinner with my very favorite...ever.

And because we love holidays so...we continued the celebration on Sunday...

because that's just how we roll. : )

Soon enough, the real thing will be here! : )

  2. Looks lovely! What a neat tradition! I have a hard enough time doing Christmas in December justice, not sure I could pull of Christmas in July.

  3. Your kids will have such fond memories of this growing up. I am sure they will pass this one to their children! Merry (in july) Christmas!

  4. You are 100% right - Christmas will be here before we turn around twice. What a nice thing to do in the middle of the year. Hope your new week is a good one.

  6. What a fun idea!
I love that your kids received a few presents! There are so many gifts being exchanged at Christmas that I feel like the little ones aren't as appreciated as they must be in July!
And what a great idea to make cut-outs now when you have more time to enjoy the process!

  8. I did the wrong thing and read this as my daughter sat beside me. She was all like, "Hey! Why don't we do that?"
Love this tradition you have and even better that it fell on a weekend this year. You are so much fun.

  12. I just love this so much!! Such a fun idea and a way to feel a bit of that precious Christmas spirit during such an unexpected time of year. I seriously may need to steal this idea next year if my son and hubby would play along.

Now the real question - have you begun "real" Christmas shopping yet?? Lol ;)

  15. I am stealing this idea- what fun!! I might also do some Easter egg decorating, since we missed out on that little tradition this year- might as well throw in a few holidays together, right? :) Loved the pics!
