Pizza Stromboli

We love this quick and easy dinner here. I serve it with a salad and some pasta sauce on the side and it makes a good homemade meal. I found this recipe years ago in a local church cookbook. Enjoy!

                              Pizza Stromboli

Ingredients:  1 loaf frozen pizza dough
                       2 Tablespoons oil
                       1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
                       1 teaspoon parsley
                       2 egg yolks
                       1 teaspoon oregano
                       1 Tablespoon Parmesan cheese
                       1/2 teaspoon salt
                       pepperoni, chopped
                       mozzarella cheese

Directions:    Roll out thawed dough.
                      Mix together all ingredients,
                      except pepperoni and mozzarella cheese.
                      Spread out onto dough.
Top with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese.
Roll up and crimp ends tightly.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
                      in preheated oven.
Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.

I set out the dough on a sprayed cookie sheet in the morning. It is thawed and ready by dinner time. If you can't find the frozen pizza dough, you can use bread dough too. I spray a sheet of plastic wrap and put it on top. Also, I double this and make two. It is good cold as leftovers too!

  4. This looks wonderful and so easy to make. This would be great on one of the crazy soccer nights. I could make ahead of time and the reheat when the kids get home.

  5. We love Stromboli dipped in homemade sauce for football games! I usually make one pepperoni and cheese, and one ham and cheese. Sometimes I add grilled onions and peppers, or shaved streak, or whatever we have on hand. Soooooo good!

  10. Yum! We usually make calzones if we are tired of pizza, but this would make a great switch up!

  11. How is this different than a calzone? Is it because it's rolled? No sauce? Looks wonderful. Come to my house and make supper please?
