Good Monday morning, my friends. Are you buried in snow from the It-Came-Out-Of-Nowhere Blizzard of 2026? I mean, sometimes we hear about a snowstorm for ten days before we get a flake. This time, I looked at our forecast on Friday, and it said there was a possibility of snow. Yesterday, it said we would be having a blizzard! And, indeed, we are! I hope you are safe and sound and cozy as can be.
We did lose power last night, so I did what I thought was best: I went to bed. When I woke this morning, I found the power restored, and I was thankful. Backing up to this past weekend, before the snow appeared, we set out to the condo and got a delicious take-out fish fry to commemorate the first Friday of Lent. Because that is what one does on Fridays of Lent, right?
Saturday morning found me awake, witnessing a most beautiful sight, reminding me that, despite all the ugliness in the world, I have the opportunity to find peace and calm if I just glance up and look.
Steve went for a walk on what he called a most perfect day for a walk on the beach.
Meanwhile, Marty and I had other plans. Very important ones that involved not walking on the beach. : ) Do you see what I am wearing? Do you have any of them? I have a few of these that I absolutely love, but I don't know what they're called. They are like a dress, but not dressy, more cozy. They aren't pajamas or a nightgown. I wear them after I shower if I am not going anywhere, or before I go, so my clothes don't wrinkle. So, there's that. Oh, did I mention cozy?
Flynn was out with Steve, so I wanted her to know her pup was in good hands.
Well, that is all for this snowy Monday morning, my friends. Please stay safe and warm. And cozy, of course. Today, Flynn and I will do our homeschooling, which currently involves Algebra, Chemistry, World History, Literature, Grammar, and Art History. Dinner is undecided as of yet, but I think it will involve chicken.
Have a wonderful Monday, my friends. Thank you for visiting, and for your comments. I appreciate your friendship!

I’m going to need a link to that cozy dress. Now I’m remembering my grandmother’s housecoat. She wore it in the morning and while doing housework. It’s so practical. Bring it back!
ReplyDeleteYes! Thank you! I couldn't think of it. Housecoat or Housedress. And I found mine on Amazon. They are really good quality. Thank you!
DeleteWhat beautiful snow and sunrise pictures, Billie Jo! We had a bit of rain with a few wet snowflakes or sleet tossed in for good measure, but it didn't hang around. My grandmother used to call those "housedresses" or "muumuus". I really like your new blog header.
ReplyDeleteYour snow pictures are sooooo pretty, Billie Jo. And your outside furniture is covered in snow! We got hit big as well. The fish and chips look really good, and there's nothing like it on Lent Fridays. And I love that last quote and picture. It's perfect for a snowy day. I'm glad your power is back on. Flynn is learning a lot with her schooling, and such advanced subjects. Thanks to her mama. ; ) Your Header is delightful with the coffee and croissant. Hope the last week of February is a good one, my friend.
ReplyDeleteYour snow pictures are beautiful, and your fish dinner looks absolutely delicious!!
ReplyDeleteI loved the snow pictures so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSnow near the water is especially beautiful. I”m glad you are staying warm!
ReplyDeleteOh, Billie Jo!!! How beautiful!! I am sure it is cold though. We had beautiful weather here in the 70's all weekend but today it dropped freezing. We have some in our home with the sickies due to the weather changing constantly. One day cold cold cold and the next warm and muggy. Oh, the joys of the deep south. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteFrom a beautiful day on the beach...to a blizzard! Weather is just so weird! We were supposed to get several inches of that storm but ended up with a dusting (at that) which was gone this morning. My kind of snow! So glad your power is back...and here's to a quick melting of all that snow!! What do your little pups think of deep snow?!?!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the blizzard! I have a niece who lives in New York City and they really got hit too. It's beautiful, but Brrr! I'm so glad your power came back on.
ReplyDeleteThe housecoat is perfect. I'm going to have to look for one.
What fun snow is! Enjoy your cozy week Billie Jo.
ReplyDeleteYour top is so pretty. There used to be something that you wore over a nightgown when sitting up in bed. They were called bed jackets, and were very popular at the time. They looked like a delicate blouse. Your photos of the sky reflected in the water are gorgeous!! And the snow really looks like it is weighing down the trees. Stay safe and warm!
ReplyDeleteOOps! Blogger made me anonymous again! The last comment about bed jackets was me, Ginny.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your cozy gorgeous snow day my Friend! Love the pics - so very pretty. Yep, had my Friday fish fry as well. 😋 I don't know what that dress thingy is you're wearing Lol.... but it sure is cute! 💗
ReplyDeleteSo happy your power was restored - perhaps the blizzard will give you the excuse to just stay in and get cozy and warm ...maybe craft a bit?
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are absolutely stunning Billie Jo! I can't believe all of that snow! Brrrrr!!! I hope you have a wonderfully cozy few days :)
ReplyDeleteYour photos are always a delight to see.
ReplyDeleteNo snow here but it is cold (at least cold for here) and since I have no where I have to be, I have stayed at the house, with a book, hot tea, and a freshly made pot of chili for dinner.
I was keeping up with the blizzard of 26 that so many of my blogging friends were getting hammered with. From what I can tell, it was an overload of snow. I am really surprised that your power was restored so quickly, but thank goodness that it was. Y'all stay warm Billie Jo and yes...I do like your comfy outfit.. stay safe..
