Good morning, my friends. And Happy Monday! I am cozy on the couch this morning, looking outside at the RAIN! Here in Pennsylvania, summer has been gloriously lovely. But we needed rain. Badly. Today is one of those rainy, cozy summer days, and I am not complaining! I have loads of dirty laundry separated into piles on the floor to keep me busy. I also have some fresh blueberries in the fridge that need to be used up, so I am thinking of making some lemon muffins and adding them to those. With a dusting of powdered sugar, they will be perfect for a quick breakfast or with my afternoon coffee.
My planner has a few things penciled in for this week: a hair appointment for me, tennis and music lessons plus a church group field trip for Flynn, and the groomer for the pups. I am also planning a few things for one of my favorite weeks of the year coming up...Shark Week! Although the kids' enthusiasm for this tradition has diminished through the years, I still enjoy watching it; they are good sports about it too!
Well, that is about all I have today! Have a great day, my friends. Thanks for visiting!
This weekend we spent a great deal of time on the lake. Late afternoon and early evenings are our favorite.
We've had rain as well, so, so needed! The lake just looks lovely...it would be amazing to just sit, look, and listen - ahhh. The week here includes college orientation (gulp) and the usual day to day...barn and coop cleaning are the "big" plans! Hope it's a great week...catch up with you soon, MaryReplyDelete
I made blueberry muffins last week with almond flour and they are so good! Lovely views of the lake. Enjoy your day and the rain!ReplyDelete
A cozy summer day in from time to time is perfect!! Hope you get a nap and maybe a little reading in too. (My favorite summer rain activities.)ReplyDelete
We had rain yesterday and I cozied up in the house enjoying every minute of it.ReplyDelete
Enjoy your rainy Monday and have a lovely week!!
Few things are as cozy as being inside while the rain falls. No rain here, but I am also attaching the laundry pile.ReplyDelete
Blueberries and lemon are such a nice combo. Your muffins sound delish.
How fun to enjoy time on that beautiful lake!
Oh, I'd love a rainy day! It's so dry here in southern Missouri. I know what you mean about the children becoming less enthusiastic about shark week. We've had that here, too, though not with shark week.ReplyDelete
I hope you enjoy it anyway!
Hi Billie Jo. We had a heavy downpour of rain here today as well, but then the sun and heat returned almost as quickly as the rain clouds moved in. Lemon muffins with fresh blueberries sound delicious. You always give me ideas to try in the kitchen. Spending evenings out on the lake sounds so great. I hope your week is awesome. Thanks for the book recommendation in your last comment on my blog! See you again soon!ReplyDelete
Hello my Lovely! I love that you have a shark background. Lol! Perfect!! I forgot about Shark Week - thanks for the reminder. 😍 I just picked up the yummiest ripe juicy sweet peaches and need to make some goodies with them. Maybe a cobbler or crisp and maybe muffins as well. Yours sound incredible and I wish we could do a swap and share some of each 😉ReplyDelete
Blessings on your week ahead. xoxo
Sounds like a cozy day at your home! Love the pretty photos of your lake. How fortunate you are to have such beauty surrounding you.ReplyDelete
We had a good rain last night after dinner. I love the sound of the rain falling. Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!ReplyDelete
Today was supposed to be sunny and hot and humid, but so far...the gray and look of rain are still hanging on from yesterday. I will take it. I wouldn't mind a cozy day inside with my pup and kitty watching a movie. I'm glad you're enjoy such relaxing, lovely days on the lake.ReplyDelete
Hi Billie Jo~ I'm so happy you got that much needed rain! It's been so hot and dry here in Idaho, and fire season has started...not my favorite time of year. Blueberry, lemon muffins sound delightful, especially on a rainy, stay in the house kind of day...enjoy! Hugs, BarbReplyDelete
We got some beautiful rain yesterday too, then today was hot and sunny and muggy and glorious. Tomorrow is supposed to be REALLY hot, I'm glad we have a pool. I love that you actually live on a lake, how amazing is that? The muffins sound delicious...ReplyDelete
The lemon muffins with blueberries sound Yummy, and a little powdered sugar is a nice change from the sweet frosting. I hope Flynn had fun on the church field trip. I remember all those school field trips with the kids. Your photos are lovely, and show us what your Summer looks like there. They almost look like a painting. So pretty. Oh, and you got some rain - GOOD! We need it here badly as well.ReplyDelete
