Perspective

I realize that with everything going on in our country and world, the weather is the last thing to complain about. So I didn't. I put the flannel sheets back on the bed as Mocha watched the snow fall. And I was thankful to have a bed. A home. A family together.

Not much planned for today. School and then a family movie night. How about you, my friends? Have a cozy Wednesday.

  2. I still find snow magical, so even though it was a late snowfall I know I would have been delighted. Of course that is easy to say when the last snowfall here with any accumulation was years ago.

  4. I thought Spring came here too, Billie Jo, then we had rain and hail and snow last week. But I don't mind, and how wonderful that you appreciate all the blessings around you. Little Mocha looks so cute and comfy, and your flannel sheets sound so nice during the snowy days.

    Have a sweet day.

  8. You're absolutely right. I remember hearing once, "Enjoy the season you are in." so true...whether it's the time of year, or the season of life. Yes, praying for peace.

  9. I love the way the dog is holding it's toy, perfectly in place while gazing out at the snow. We, too, are cold again. Frost was predicted for last night and again tonight. But, like you, I am so grateful to have a place to crawl under covers and fall asleep without fear. that's a true blessing.

  12. Yes, you are right to be thankful. I am too. So many people in Ukraine don't even know if their loved ones are dead or alive. It's horrible. Prayers for them.

  13. I don't really mind an April snowstorm, because it gives us fodder for recreational complaining. The dark gray skies can be depressing for some, but shh, not for me. It comforts me somehow, and makes me feel that life requires less of me, no pressure to GET OUTSIDE. I like inside. I like the coziness of gray days. Flannel sheets, one of mankind's best inventions, are needed here for a lion's share of the year. I always long for the fresh cool cottony feel of my nice summertime sheets by the time April rolls around though.

  16. Hi friend! We are having a rather cool week here, but that's okay with me as I know it won't last very long and I'm not a big fan of hot weather. Charlotte has the week off from school so it's been nice to not really have to have much of a schedule. Curious... which movie did you watch for family movie night?

  17. SO SO SO true! It's all about perspective, isn't it? Realizing how much we have, instead of focusing on things we don't like. The other day, I found myself irritated because my DVR didn't record something correctly, and after a few minutes of complaining, I realized it was really a "first world" problem, that if not getting a show was the worst thing in my life, then my life was positively amazing.
By the way, I'm so glad my recent blog post about trusting God with my adult kids spoke to your heart.

    Love and hugs,
    Patti
