Rearranging Your Home And Yummy Chicken Bowls

Good morning, my friends. Sharing a photo today of a not-often-photographed spot in my home. Our bedroom faces the lake, and we have a large bow window looking out. Since moving here in August, I have utilized this lovely space in a rather efficient way. I used it to hold piles of laundry for folding. Recently, I looked around my house and found a few simple things I could put together to make it look a bit cozier. I added a throw from the bottom of our bed, a pillow that Steve uses at night to prop his arm for better sleeping, some lovely artificial flowers in a cute vase that Flynn no longer wanted, and a stack of unread books, waiting to be opened. Suddenly, I have a pretty and cozy spot in my room without any cost or hassle. #winning!

Also, sharing one of our favorite easy weeknight meals. My family asks for this at least twice a month. And people pleaser that I am, I oblige. Actually, I am thrilled. This is the easiest meal ever. I put some boneless. skinless chicken breast in the crockpot, sprinkle with taco seasoning mix and add salsa. That's it. I let it cook on low all afternoon and then shred it right in the crockpot. I set out all the toppings I have on hand, cook some rice in the rice cooker, and everyone is happy! Our favorite toppings are corn, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, pico, avocado, sour cream, and cilantro.

Well, I am off to finish my morning prayers, shower, and start our day. I hope your day is everything you desire it to be, whether productive and busy or quiet and cozy. Take time for yourself. Maybe a cup of afternoon coffee. : )

  7. Yours is the 4th blog or vlog with that exact same recipe. The universe is trying to tell me to try it. So I guess I will. It sounds easy, and I'm all about easy when it comes to recipes. And yes to shopping your house versus going to the store. We all have so much in our own homes that we can shop when we want or need a change.

  9. Beautiful!!! A few weeks ago I put an unused armchair in my bedroom... It took about 12 hours for it to turn into a laundry holder. I had to take it back out of the room. hahah. Your view is incredible.

Girl.. I wish this bunch was easy to please when it comes to dinner time. They have so many food restrictions ( vegan and vegetarian) that I only cook for paul and I anymore. The herbivore's have to fend for themselves. : )

  10. What a lovely spot, Billie Jo. That pillow is so special, love that. Those are sweet flowers that Flynn gave you. They look like Spring. Thank you for the gentle reminder to take time for ourselves. It's not something we do often, and is much needed. Have a restful weekend, Billie Jo.

  12. I love your cozy little spot. It's amazing how little it can take to totally change up a space in your house. I really need a decorator- I have lots of spots that need some attention. :)
