Keeping It Real: I Love The Bachelor!

Ok. I admit it. I love this show. For me, Mondays mean The Bachelor. I have watched every season, and have loved every one. Some more than others, but you get the idea. I realize this show isn't everyone's cup of tea. I wouldn't be thrilled if one of my children went on a television show to find his or her spouse, but who am I to judge? I mean, several people have actually found happiness, love, marriage, and children after meeting on this show. So there's that. And I love the commitment and care that the host for all these years, Chris Harrison, shows each and every season. And honestly, I just enjoy it. I enjoy knowing that for a few hours each Monday night, I can crash on my couch and get lost in a world of fantasy dates, rose ceremonies, and obnoxious but hilarious young women as they vie for the attention of a man they barely know. And then there's that time I ran into Chris Harrison in an airport and called out to him like a long lost friend, which he sort of is, right?

Tonight, my bestie Heather is driving down to watch it with us.
And she is bringing a carrot cake.
Roses are overrated, ladies.
How about you, my friends?
Do you have a guilty pleasure television show?

Happy Monday!

  2. I don't watch regular television-the commercials are annoying except two shows...always watch THIS IS US...and text one of the grands during this show...and sometimes BLUEBLOODS...i prefer Netflix and Hulu with NO commercials at all. reality shows are never my thing...sorry...but enjoy it...
I love love Downton Abbey and The Crown...Midsomer Murders-anything from British...
Sometimes on Hulu, I catch up on Law and Order SUV...I like mysteries and history...
Love your blog...adding your family to it has been great.

  5. I haven't watched the Bachelor since college. We even had brackets and pools to see who made the most correct guesses. I totally see the appeal of watching the show, it just hasn't been a priority. :) How fun you have a girlfriend to watch with and laugh with. And one who brings desserts too?! That's true friendship!!

  6. Do you know, I have never watched that show. I thought of you though last night when I was watching a Hallmark movie-Love in Winterland. It was about a girl on a dating show, smiles.

Hope you have a great day, friend.

  8. I just recently (in Bachelor years anyway) got into this show. I had seen a little bit of it here and there but finally watched a whole season when Ben Higgins was the Bachelor and have been watching it faithfully ever since. I have to DVR it because my husband will not watch it with me!

  9. I have never watched that show - maybe I should give it a try. The Bachelor live is coming to Salt Lake City soon. I am not sure how that would work as a live show. We don't watch much TV, just Dateline, to which I seem to have become addicted lately. Not sure why. I think I just like the sory and the mystery. Have a good week.

  10. I watched t his in the past, but it didn't keep my attention. But I do love Chris Harrison; I swear he used to be on a show on HGTV eons ago. I am guilty enjoying The Real Housewives of anyplace....they're nutty and entertaining.

  11. I LOVE that you called out to him at the airport!!!! That is just golden! On our way back from Oregon in December, there were some famous people in the Chicago airport. I had no idea who they were, but people were stopping and getting pics taken with them, a group of African American men, decked out in BLING like I've never seen before. Golden lace thing-ys on their sneakers, necklaces and earrings and sparkles...oh my! There was a little old Mennonite lady sitting there just staring at them. Life is stranger than fiction sometimes. I don't watch the Bachelor regularly, have a few different seasons when my daughters watched, now one of my girls keeps me updated whether I want to hear it or not, ha, I don't mind. But what fun, watching with friends AND carrot cake!!! Perfect!!!
