Good Morning And Some Winners!

Good morning, my friends!

I am coming to you from the comfort of my cozy bed, with puppies on either side of me and steaming coffee in hand. Today I am sipping a cup of Maxwell House International French Vanilla Cafe. It is an instant coffee that I made quickly with boiling water from the kettle. Other mornings I drink McCafe ground coffee made in my Mr. Coffee machine, which resembles very closely the one my mother had in her kitchen all those years ago.

Some mornings I have my coffee on the deck after my walk. I sip it slowly while I relax and enjoy some time before I shower and start my day. Other mornings, like today, I forgo my walk and stay snuggled in my bed while the world wakes up outside. I don't have a set schedule for my morning walks. That somehow never works for me! Rather, I listen to my body, and if I feel like hopping out of bed, lacing up my sneakers, and heading out, I do. If not, then I slowly make my way out to make coffee and hop back into bed.

I am wondering what your mornings are like, my friends?

And...Thank you for all the kind comments on the anniversary post!
Last night, I did choose the winners!
With the help of Rhett and his Random Number Generator, we chose the following friends as winners of the Yankee Candles:

The first name was drawn for the large candle: Brenda!

The second for the small candle set: Saimi!

and

The third name drawn for the small candle set: Sylvia!

Congratulations!
Please email me with your addresses, and I will send them right out.
Please do so by Monday, August 12, 2019.

Have a wonderful day, my friends!

  1. Your mornings sound lovely! Mine look very different, depending on whether it's summer or a school day, but this summer they have been VERY lazy. Laying in bed until I feel like getting out is pretty awesome, and I took full advantage of it!!! One kid will make their own breakfast, but the other wants to eat what I'm eating, so when the spirit moves me, I get up and make us both scrambled eggs. And I hope we can still be friends after I tell you this, but I have NEVER had a cup of coffee. :)

  2. I love your mornings! What you are doing today sounds perfect to me! Rob is always up first so he makes us a big pot of steaming coffee. The first thing I do is get a cup and bring it back to bed with me. I slowly sip it and watch a little TV. Sometimes Lucy, sometimes QVC, sometimes a game show if it's on. I sit there for a good 30 minutes - check in with the world on my phone while the caffeine does it's magic. Then it's time to take a shower and get on with my day. Sometimes its really hard to get out of my bed. I consider taking a walk, but it never seems to happen! : ) I love slow mornings!!
Congratulations to all the winners! Happy Wednesday, my friend! xo

  3. Your mornings seems peaceful and enjoyable!! I get up and make my tea first then it's irish oatmeal, pancakes once a month, egg white/salsa, real eggs or omelets only once a week, waffles once in awhile, sometimes there is a breakfast casserole or pastries. Husband has a latte every morning, I like tea/milk. Thanks for sharing about your morning! Have a lovely week my friend!!!

  4. What a nice morning routine you have. I try to get at least half a bottle of water in me right away. Ever so slowly this year I have been working on drinking the recommended amount of water and just recently have I hit that goal. My kids are always up before me but that's okay. Soon we will have to start getting back into a school routine but for now I am good with the summer schedule!

  7. Yes, I think listening to your body is so important -- it's good to move when I really want to and then sometimes, nope!

  8. Your pictures are just lovely! I was telling my hubby that I so want to move where there are lots of trees so I can just go our and sit among them. I'm a nature loving girl who needs to be surrounded by trees and water. ;) Your mornings do sound nice and I am glad that you are listening to your body and taking care of you. Be blessed!

  10. I'm usually up by 6:00 during the week to get Dan's lunch packed. I use the time before he wakes up to read the daily readings and try to get some prayers in. I always do this with coffee! :)

  12. I love your summer routine! I can't believe how the deer look as if they are posing for you! Beautiful walk...I, do not walk or exercise...I should...I just don't. It's like I need to decide Mass OR walking, I choose Mass. I wish I could figure out a way to do both! I did see a meme the other day that said something to the effect of "My biggest fear about becoming a zombie is all the walking" I SO thought of you! I stared watching The Walking Dead...and the Fear of the Walking Dead....LOVING them!! In the summer, I really try to go to daily Mass, and I like the 8am Mass, so I get up at 7 and then go to Mass and my new trick this summer has been to get my coffee ready the night before, so when I get home, I just turn it on and try to eat (drink) around 9. My new summer drink has been a double shot of Espresso in a large cup of ice with a Premiere Protein caramel drink added....so good and it tastes like I went to Caribou and bought it! I bring it to my porch and pray my daily prayers and soak in morning's blessings! I also make a hot cup of coffee, I put 2 TBSP's of IF French Vanilla instant coffee, put it in a big mug and fill it half way with hot water and then fill the rest with coffee....tastes less sugary and lasts all day sometimes!
