What's Inside My Purse

I switched out my purse yesterday. I took everything out of my blue winter bag, went through all the items, and promptly put (almost) everything right back in my Disney spring and summer bag. Madison suggested I share with you some of the things I keep inside, and because I rely heavily on my firstborn for advice, I am doing just that. I will spare you pictures of the typical purse things...my wallet, my keys, my oversized pack of disinfecting wipes...and focus on the important things: cosmetics!

1. Bath and Body Works Foaming Mousse Hand Sanitizer

I am all about cleanliness. I always keep antibacterial wipes in my bag. However, I find it easier sometimes to grab this and give everyone a quick squirt. My current scent is Winter Candy Apple, so I suppose I need to update that soon!

2. It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Translucent Pressed Powder

Madison introduced me to It Cosmetics, and I became an instant fan. This compact powder is perfect because it contains a mirror and a sponge so I can do a quick touch up anytime, anywhere. It is great for pore reduction and hiding those little pesky wrinkles that seem to like me all of a sudden. : )

3. Besame Cosmetics Dusty Rose Lipstick

This lipstick was a gift from my Madison. She chose it because it is a replica of a popular color the year I was born. This brand specializes in retro makeup, and I love everything about that!

4. Wander Beauty Riviera Lipstick

I really like this shade because it is neutral, and I can use it to touch up any color I may be wearing. I am not fond of putting the lipstick I am wearing in my purse because I always forget to remove it. I then end up with ten tubes of lipstick in my bag and none in my drawer. Truth.

5. Seraphine Botanicals Creamy Raisin + Cream Lip Stain

This is a fun little lip color that I like because it moisturizes and adds a little bit of color for the times I just need a quick pop. It is also vegan and cruelty free, so that's a plus!

6. Tiny plastic hair clip from Walmart

Keeping it real here, my friends. I like to keep a cheap little jaw clip in my bag for all the times when I leave the house with my hair on point, only to find later that it has become a hot mess. I learned this trick from Madison, after borrowing one from her more times than I wish to count.

There you are, my friends.
A little peek into what I have in my bag.
Not pictured: Ice Breaker Mints. Always.
Tissues. Unused. And a bunch of crinkled ones that I think are unused.
My favorite pen...Pilot G.
And a solar calculator I have had since I used it to do grades for my second grade classroom.
In 1996.

Care to share some of your must haves?
I'd love to know!

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Looks great... I try to keep chapstick, lipstick, gum, and hand sanitizer in mine. I need to add a notepad because it seems I'm always looking for something to write on! I think I will do that today!

  2. What a fun thing to blog about. I try to engage friends on FB asking them to tell me what they carry in their purse, or what is in their desk drawer, what type of pizza like....etc. Gets everyone involved. I carry very little in my purse, used to carry a saddle bag (what I called it) then one day I realize that I was carrying things I never pulled out so I dropped down to a small purse that I carry over my shoulder. I am looking for a small hobo type purse to carry for the summer. haha

  5. Your purse is sooooo cute! I have a purse with many compartments, one is where I keep my tech stuff, such as, a phone charger, headphones, a flash light. Then I have a makeup section where I keep, lipstick, cover up, lip balm, then in the main section I keep my wallet and I have a pocket for my reading glasses and a pocket for my cell phone. I may have to do a what's in my purse blog. Have a great week. Hugs, ~Juli

  6. I have carried wipes in my purse since Peter and Sarah were babies and at this point I imagine I always will. They are so good to have around especially if you spill something on your clothes. Works like a charm to get out a stain before it sets in.

Would love to know how you control out of control hair with that tiny little clip!

  9. My purse has so little in it, it's really funny because it's like if a man carried a purse, ha. I have my wallet, keys, a pen/pencil case, a hairbrush and a reusable shopping bag. I stopped carrying makeup and stuff when my kids were babies and I never went back. I really should because I can always use a touch-up (maybe a full makeover some days).

  10. Well that was a fun look inside your darling bag. I agree about the lipsticks in my bag and none at my vanity! I love It Cosmetics. The Celebration compact is my favorite for when the temps get warmer. It is complete coverage for all the imperfections. I'm in search of new lipstick and must check out Besame. Happy Monday! ♥

  13. You would truly laugh out loud if you saw what was in my bag. Old lady's bag for sure; no makeup and the only common thing is hand sanitizer! Love your summer purse!

  14. Hi Billie Jo~

It's fun to see what other people keep in their hand bag...mine is a mess right now! Like you, hand sanitizer is a must. I always have lipstick in my bag, and a little bottle of hairspray...I know...but sometimes, I need it. Breath mints and gum are a must as well. And, I always keep a notepad with me, you never know when I might get inspired, and if I don't write it down, it's gone!

Love your Disney handbag, it's so cute!!

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb

  15. Cute bag! Sanhanitizer, as I call it, gum for church kids, Aleve, Ibuprofen, Mentholatum (year round), 5-6 pens, calendars, lip balm and a sundry of things on any given day. No joke, I always flash back to “Let’s Make A Deal” of my youth....gotta be ready.

  17. This reminds me I need to clean out my purse, yet again. Many of my must-haves are the same as yours except no make-up. Probably because I'd need to put it in a sandwich bag to keep it from spilling, like I do with my spray hand sanitizer, female "emergency supplies", and a couple bottles of essential oils(lavender & stress away). Lip balm, pen, and cash are my other must have items. Fun post!
