Thursday Thoughts

Today, I'm thinking about...

...The Fourth of July! Because it is here! I love this holiday. It is like third place behind Christmas and Halloween. : ) I like it because it is simple. There is food and fireworks. That's it. We just enjoy. Our town has fireworks on the evening of the Third of July, so we celebrate with family and friends that day. The Fourth itself is always a quiet family day with food, sparklers and movie marathons. Whatever you and your people do this Fourth, I hope you have fun, stay safe, and make memories! Here is a peek at the week past in our country home.

We returned home from our cruise, and I resumed my daily coffee on the porch...

and making dinner, which both make me very happy. : )

Summer mornings...

and summer evenings. Off to the movies to see Inside Out. Which, by the way, got a thumbs up from this crew!

And despite the calendar saying it is July, it feels more like fall here is Pennsylvania. So what's a girl to do, but make pumpkin pie?

And finishing up with a few more cruise pics...

We made a wonderful friend in the ship's magician...
He visited our table every night and did the most amazing tricks...

this was my girl as she watched him! : )

Happy Weekend, my friends!
Happy Fourth of July!!!

  1. It will be a quiet weekend here. Our children all have activities, so Jim and I may grill a burger, watch the fireworks on our porch. We live close to the Tennessee River which is downtown and we can see the fireworks from there. Enjoyed seeing your pictures as always. Happy 4th!

  4. My dad is putting his new smoker to good use so we will be eating all the meats this 4th of July. And there will be sparklers too!

  6. I'm right there with you... 4th of July is neck in neck with Christmas for me! As much as I LOVE Christmas, I really don't like the cold! ;) Plus, like you said, I love the simplicity of Independence Day. Enjoy your weekend!

  15. Hi Billie Jo!

I have so enjoyed going back and checking out your cruise pictures - looks like you had a wonderful time!

I also love the 4th of July - I love it's simplicity. I haven't thought about a movie marathon, what a great idea!! Your pictures look so summery and serene, but, it all changes so quickly! Pretty soon, it will be ready for kids to go back to school, and then
    Christmas right around the corner!

    Have a great week!

    Hugs,
    Barb

P.S. I also love pumpkin pie . . . any time of the year!!
