Welcome Fall

Welcome fall. How I've missed you! Come inside and stay awhile!

We decorated our home for fall on Tuesday. Yes, the day after Labor Day. Every year I find it harder and harder to wait! First we gave the house a good dusting. I know it seems strange, but I like to do that before I put up seasonal decorations. Flynn loves to dust! Really. And she does a good job, too! After we dusted, we brought up the autumn totes from the storage area and got busy. I leave these decorations up until the end of November. At the beginning of October I add in the Halloween decorations, and then in early November I change the Halloween things out for Thanksgiving ones.

I'd like to give you a little tour of our country home all decked out for fall. Before I do, however, I would like to apologize for the picture quality. A photographer I am not. For those of you who are, thanks for sticking with me!

This is the table in our mudroom. The bowls are for keys . And the basket holds Kirby's leashes.

Here is our fall candy dish. It sits on the kitchen table. I don't keep a candy dish out all year, but there is something about those cute fall wrappers! They get me every time!

Oh...Spiced Pumpkin we've missed you!!!!

This is the fall mantle. 2005 was the year we built our home.

This is our hearth room. It is also the view from my kitchen sink! This room gets used sooo much. Steve reads the paper in here, the girls like to study here, and I eat my cereal here every morning.

Can't forget the dining room table. (Even though it rarely gets used...)

And our front porch. Can't wait to sit and see those beautiful fall leaves!

Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful fall!

  1. Everything looks so cute, Billie Jo! I can't wait to pull out my pumpkin candle! You're inspiring me to get moving on getting the fall decorations out.

  2. Thanks for sharing. The decorations look gorgeous, you have possibly inspired me to pull mine out. Oh, and I love the fireplace :)

  3. I want to come visit! How beautiful your home looks with all the fall decor. I am jealous of the gorgeous mantle :) Before I even saw the pumpkin candle, I could almost smell it while scrolling through. Yum.
Now I am eager to get the fall decor out soon too. Thanks for sharing!

  4. I am with Sarah! How beautiful. I love spiced pumpkin candle. I had to chuckle. I use to do the same thing on labor day until we moved south. When it's 103, it still screams summer LOL! The idea of putting the year you built the house into you mantle is such a creative thing to do! Thanks for the tour....wish we lived closer :)

  5. oh how i love fall!!:) the girls are so anxious to get our goodies out, but for my own sanity i have to wait till soccer is over and we can all breathe.:) we usually aim for late september and i do the same thing...add the halloween stuff in then switch it for thanksgiviing later.:) your mantle is beautiful and nothing makes your home more ready for fall then reeses on the table and a pumpkin spice candle on the counter!!:)
have a happy day billie jo

don't forget to try and reply to this one:)!

  6. I love all of your fall decorations! Your home is so inviting. I have been wanting to pull out my decorations but it has been a little to hot. After seeing your beautiful home I know what I will be doing today. :)
    Have a wonderful day!

  7. I love all your decorations! I can't wait to get all of my fall stuff out, but I'm not quite ready to tell summer goodbye yet. In a couple of weeks though, it will be that time! Happy 'early' Fall!!!

  8. So cute! I'm still holding on to every last drip of summer, but I am slowly surrendering to the new season! I do love fall, but I just have to mourn the passing of summer for a few weeks before I start decorating. I have a new fall wreath for my door that my sister got me for my birthday. I can't wait to put it out!

  9. Hi Billie Jo! I adore your mudroom table. You're organized and I love to walk into my house and see something seasonal right away. Love the candy dish and the mantle. How lucky to have that as your view from your kitchen sink. So cozy! Love it!

Thanks so much for saying hello!

Billie Jo
