Monday Morning Coffee

Good Monday morning, my friends. How was your weekend? Steve, Flynn, and I spent our weekend at the condo, venturing out for mass on a cold Sunday evening. Thank you for the kind words and messages on my last post. I appreciate every single one. Saturday, my mom sent a beautiful sunrise...

And my family sent me some beautiful flowers to brighten my day.

I don't have many more pictures from the weekend, but I did take this one. Remember when your children were little, and you couldn't go to the bathroom without them right outside the door? Well, don't expect much to change when they grow up!

Yesterday was cold, dark, and rainy. Not that I minded! But today is clear and calm. Perhaps a reminder to me to begin this new week the same way?

We will tidy up here and head across the bridge soon. Today, Flynn and I will do homeschooling. I have a chicken recipe to try tonight, and then some of us will watch the college football championship. Others may be snuggled by the fire with a good book. Just sayin'.

Have a wonderful day, my friends! Thank you for visiting.

  1. Thank you, Billie Jo, for the view from the condo. I did not forget about the championship tonight-I am rooting for Indiana (I was born there and have deep roots there). However, I won't be able to stay up and watch it...wishing you a beautiful day my friend.

  2. Im sorry I missed yesterday's post but read it this morning. I don't think we ever get over missing our moms. I used to think people who said they thought of someone everyday were exaggerating. After Mom and Dad were gone I found out just how true it is.
Happy for the beautiful sunrise and a clear and calm day.
Enjoy reading by the fire tonight!

  7. Your family is wonderful. You are loved my friend. I laughed at the dogs. It is so true. Our Zoey follows me to the bathroom every time.

  10. What a beautiful sunrise, and that it brought sweet thoughts of your mom.
My mom died in 2005, in San Diego. (I'm in Seattle.) My sisters were with her and called me near the end. When my oldest sister - a nurse - told me she had just taken her last breath, our clock read 4:44. Now whenever any clock hits 4:44 I remember my mom and usually say a little something to her.
Enjoy that fireplace! I pray you have a blessed week

  13. Your sunrise is gorgeous! You have the best ones there. So, the pups do not like you closed up in the bathroom? Funny, but it shows how much they love you!

  14. So funny to see the pups waiting outside the door haha Puppies or kids - they all do it! I remember a book I read about a mama elephant that was called "Five Minutes Peace Please"

  16. Megan and I have planned a charcuterie board for the big game. This Indiana girl won't make it to the end of the game though. A little late for me! Beautiful sunrise.

  17. What you wrote for your mama was so beautiful. I hope the wonderful memories of her gave you much comfort. I know those milestones can be so tough. Your pups crack me up! Haha! Our cat Jake has a terrible habit of just literally busting into the bathroom when I am showering. I leave the door slightly cracked and he just barges in! LOL! Hope you have had a calm day and that you are snuggled up with a good book by now.
