Good Morning! How was your weekend? October weekends are glorious, aren't they? Here in Pennsylvania, the sun shone, the leaves glistened, and the air had that distinct feeling of fall. Saturday was a beautiful day, and I was so glad, because my niece got married and she had the most perfect autumn day for her wedding. Here we are, minus Flynn, who opted to stay home for this one, as her time here is limited. She kept an eye on the pups, and that was much appreciated. The wedding was lovely, and I was able to visit with quite a few people I don't get to see as often. The food was delicious, and I was happy to be with my people.
Sunday was another beautiful day, and the sparkly makeup and fancy dress were but a memory as we got up early and went to mass with Peyton and Chris. Here are the only two coffee drinkers in the group, drinking small-town restaurant coffee—some of the best.
Sunday afternoon, the guys went to the Steeler game together, as documented here when hope of victory remained.
And although there is no photographic evidence, Madison, Peyton, Kyrstin, Flynn, and I had a fun night of dinner and a movie together. We decided on Red Lobster carryout, which is always a good idea. I had salmon, a baked potato, and asparagus. And it was good! Then we watched an old favorite movie...
If you haven't seen it, or it's been a while, I encourage you to make a cup of hot cocoa with whipped cream and orange and black sprinkles, or maybe even whip up some pumpkin bars, and settle in for a bit of Halloween fun this week.
Today, we are meeting a good friend of our family, Bobby K, for a movie, and then he and some of our other dear friends are coming for dinner. Steve is making meatloaf, and I am making heating up potatoes and corn. I am always thankful to spend time with special friends when we have the chance.
Tomorrow, we load up the van and head back to Maryland! This week, Mocha and Cosmo have vet appointments for checkups, and we also have an appointment for window coverings, as well as one for the home security system installed in the house. We figured we might need to figure out what all the buttons and sirens mean before they start beeping without us knowing how to stop them. Then Friday, of course, is Halloween!
Have a lovely Monday, my friends. Thank you for visiting. I am always glad that you do!
Leaving you with a few reminders, courtesy of Pinterest.
But, if this is you, that is ok too.
I am right there with you!

Ha! Yes, I always need Garlic Bread. And it is crazy the difference in generations with water. Not in like a judgey way... just that you're right. We got "3 Mississippi's" of water fountain to get us from recess to the end of the day! You all look wonderful as wedding guests! What fun for you! Safe travels back.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to watch a Halloween movie. I hope I can this week
ReplyDeleteHow nice to be with extended family!
Small town Saturday coffee and breakfast out is so nostalgic!

ReplyDeleteWow, you have been unusually busy! Glad you are having fun and making the most of fall!! I adore your quote about drinking water; it is so true!! I don't know anything about this movie, I will look into it!
ReplyDeleteHi again!! I forgot to say how I love your tree lamp with the yellow leaves peeking through the window!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things is a cup of hot chocolate topped with whipped cream. With this cooler weather, I've been doing that a lot lately.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness you had a really busy, fun and joyful weekend didn't you? I love, love, love how close you and your family are. I wish our kids all lived closer to us.
ReplyDeleteThat Stanley cup thing is so true. Our granddaughter has one she takes to school. :-) Hot chocolate with whipped cream...yes please. My favorite place to be is home or in my camper. Other places, not so much.
Happy Monday my friend. It's good to be back.
Blessings,
Betsy
