The Last Friday Of June

Hello, my friends. And here we are at the end of June. I don't want to alarm anyone, but Fourth of July is NEXT WEEK! Flynn and I are finishing homeschool today, and that means we will have a sophomore in the house. Yes. That means this little one here...

Will be in tenth grade next year!? Ten years go by in a flash! We celebrated the last week of school with a special DoorDash treat. Sipping on some favorites made the Biology lessons seem a bit easier.

The rest of our week was, you guessed it, hot! I opted for some housedresses and iced coffee...

Breakfast for dinner...

And waiting until evening to venture outdoors.

Not that I'm complaining, or anything.

It's me, after all!

Have a lovely weekend, my friends. Do what you love with the people who make you happy. Thanks for visiting!

Billie Jo

  1. Congratulations to Flynn! A sophomore! WOW! We're starting our trip home today and the heat and humidity will both climb as we head east. I'm dreading it since we've had such gorgeous weather in the Black Hills.
Enjoy this day that the Lord has made.
    Blessings and hugs,

  2. Congratulations, Flynn! Time sure is flying by. Today we have cooler weather and darker skies. Hopefully your part of PA is also getting that break from the heat wave, too. The last few days were torture. Have a great weekend.

  3. I remember Morticia Addams! And how did all that whipped cream stay so fluffy during the delivery drive?? Breakfast for dinner; sounds good to me!

  4. I remember, when I was a little girl, my Mom telling me that when July 4th rolled around, summer was half over. Usually that prompted thoughts of dread but today, with being a senior citizen, my mind is yelling "Yayyy!! No more heat!!". *haha* Stay cool, Billie Jo, and enjoy your beautiful home. Being a homeschool Mom for 25 years, I know how fun that last day of school always was. Love, Andrea xoxo

  5. Congrats to 9th in the history books (and the biology books, and - well you get the idea!)!! What a cute Kindergartener she was!! Sigh. Where does the time go? Your deck is beautiful. I just would have had to find a way to spend time out there. Maybe at 5:30 in the morning - lol!

  7. She is growing up fast! I don't blame you for declaring house dress day! It has been really, really hot. I've stayed inside as much as possible. Your treats look so yummy! I need a little more ice cream in my life. Haha! Have a great weekend!

  9. Congrats to Flynn on completing another year and moving up to 10th grade! That is a darling picture of her. I think it is so neat that you homeschooled all of your children - especially with all the crazy things going on in public schools. We had breakfast for dinner last week too - it is one of my favorite dinners! I am glad that you are enjoying your summer - staying cool and cozy indoors - just the way you like it. Have a good weekend!

  13. Exciting that you and Flynn have finished homeschool. Sweet photos and a great way to celebrate! Also loved the photo of you and your pup, and your other pup on the deck, and what a pretty deck you have with all those lovely trees. I like having breakfast for dinner too. A big smile on the Morticia clip. I know how that feels! Wishing you a lovely weekend. Looks like there will be plenty of liquid sunshine.
