Happy weekend! This week flew by in a flash of...well, normalcy. Is there a better way to spend a week? Not doing all the exciting things. Just living. Just being. And why are we hesitant to document those days? Something about going back and reading about the normal days of my life makes me happy. Those significant events are tucked somewhere in there, able to be retrieved quickly, but the ordinary days are easily forgotten. This is why I am thankful for this little space. I am easily reminded of how I spent many ordinarily beautiful days with my family.
Days beginning by waking up with a snuggly pup in my bed. And yes, you are looking at Charlie Brown Halloween flannel sheets. Yes. I am fifty-five years old. And yes, it is June. Also, no matter where I am, these two are near me. Perhaps because I like cozy blankets on the couch.
Of course, other people have fun and find joy outside their comfort zone! Like my adult children, who still play nicely together!
The delicious taco bar Kyrstin set up for all of us on Tuesday is not pictured but entirely blog-worthy!
These two are living their very best life, driving fancy cars out in Las Vegas, while Peyton is living her's, back in Pennsylvania with her pups and her husband in her garden!
As for me? Well, this pretty much sums up my week. Throw in some homeschooling, cooking dinner, doing laundry, swimming, deep cleaning some drawers and cabinets, napping, and finishing my binge-watching of YOU, and you are all caught up!
Photo by Madison, who has the most beautiful view from her backyard.
Have a wonderful weekend, my friends! I plan on sipping some coffee and visiting with you !
Billie Jo
You are right - life is really in the ordinary days and they are a blessing! It's a joy to see your kids and husband enjoying life too, right?
ReplyDeleteMadison's photo is gorgeous!
Ordinary days are my favorite. They are what make a great life. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love ordinary days. I would be happy to always be home but my Hubby has an adventuresome spirit so I drag myself out of my comfort zone and always have fun. The humidity on this trip is miserable though. Your four-legged kids are so precious, as are the two-legged ones. You always bring calmness and peace into my day when I read your posts. Thank you my friend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and love,
Betsy
I like you EVEN MORE because you have Charlie Brown sheets!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat last sky pic is GLORIOUS!!!!
Beautiful pictures you featured, Billie Jo! I love your Charlie Brown sheets. Madison's sky picture is stunning. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteNicolas was making me nervous up there...I just briefly glanced. ~wink~ Flynn appeared to be having lots of fun. And Peyton's flowers (and her dogs) are so pretty! I totally agree that the ordinary days are the best...and it's a good thing because the majority of life is made up of them. :) xx
ReplyDeleteThose dogs have such personality! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe sky photo is beautiful, and so are the flowers. You raised wonderful and beautiful children!!
ReplyDeleteIt is, indeed, such a blessing when people "play nicely together." That is a blessing not to be taken for granted.
ReplyDeleteYour pups are soooo photogenic!
Ordinary days are so beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteEspecially when you've been through a hard time,
you appreciate ordinary days even more!!
Hello Billie Jo, the dogs are adorable! Your photos are beautiful! Ordinary days can be a blessing. Charlie Brown flannel sheets! I love it! I am a child at heart. LOL! I agree with Ginny, you raised wonderful and beautiful children!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful purple sky.
ReplyDeleteAll my days are pretty normal with every day things too. But that's the way I like it. Finding joy in the every day things makes me happy. :)
The pups are soooo cute!!!
Normal always feels good, Billie Jo!! I loved seeing your photos!! Happy week ahead!
ReplyDeleteYou are living the dream. Even though I live a very busy life there is nothing I enjoy more than those ordinary, calmer days at home.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fine week to me! Your pups are so cute and your hoo-kids are pretty special too. Basking in that alone is understandable!
ReplyDeleteI love the grey planter with all the colorful flowers in it. And I find myself longing for a puppy dog now.... They're so cute. But I also know that with a dog comes great responsibility. so I'm always kind of hesitant.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely family, and all the fur-babies are adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou always make me smile, thanks. Have a beautiful day my friend.
ReplyDeleteYour little pet babies are all so adorable...so cute!! I miss having a pet, but at our age, we decided that it wouldn't be fair to a new pet, because we like to travel. such gorgeous pink roses and they look so very healthy,...love this color...Enjoy the weekend Billie Jo
ReplyDeleteWhat delightful pictures, Billie Jo. Thank you for posting them. Yes, our children have a tendency to like more exciting ways of life than we do, don't they. Is it because of their age vs. ours? Or do their tastes truly gravitate more toward the "exciting" than ours do? I'm sure I was more adventurous back in the day but now...not anywhere near that level, if at all. Course, I still ride on the back of my husband's Harley-Davidson & we're both going to be 69yo this summer so...I'm not a total lost cause. *ha-ha* You enjoy your weekend too, Billie Jo. ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteNormalcy is underrated. I love those ordinary days, where everyone is peaceful and content. Xx
ReplyDeleteI love the days where nothing happens.. I often look forward to those days. Lovely photos. Makes me happy to see your kids happy and together.
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy seeing what you and your crew have been up to! Looks like everyone, pups included, have enjoyed themselves! Just as it should be!
ReplyDeleteI love this post, Billie Jo. Regular ordinary days should be respected and even celebrated. There is much good in them.
