Friday Again

~ Diner breakfasts are highly underrated, don't you think? ~

Good morning! Happy Friday! I don't have much to share with you today because this past week has been uneventful! And I am not one bit sad about that. Our hot, sunny July weather was replaced with slightly cooler, cloudier days that gave me a glimpse of the cozier ones to come. I wish I could tell you how much I accomplished this week, but that would be a complete untruth. Mostly I did the bare minimum amount of housework, laundry, cooking, and continued binge-watching The Walking Dead with Flynn. We are trying to finish before we start homeschooling again. I also enjoyed snuggling with the pups!

Steve and the kids went shopping one night, and I opted to stay home with the dogs. I am selfless like that. You know how much I love shopping, right?? My kids did surprise me with this special treat! And yes. It is for me.

Rhett did have one question. Who even is Frute Brute???

I am off for one more cup of coffee, my friends. Today I have some quick cleaning to do because we are getting some repeat visitors this weekend! Although I don't need to clean the entire house before their arrival, I think it is a common courtesy to scrub a few toilets and sweep a few floors, right? Have a lovely weekend, whatever your plans may be. Thanks for visiting! I am always glad you do!

  1. Everything here has moved from bright green to a more deep green. The humidity is lower and so are the temperatures. I know we will probably have more heat before true Fall sets in but I'm happy with how it is now and enjoying it.
Sounds like you had a nice relaxing week.
    Enjoy your weekend!!

  2. Summer being clingy just made me laugh out loud. Thank you for that! It's a rainy Friday here and a good chuckle from my cozy office makes everything bright. I love the monster cereal and unproductive weeks are also my favorite so I totally get it!

  3. I am right with you, I am ready for summer to be on it's way out and Fall to arrive! Your puppies are so very cute. I also am a firm believer in taking it easy and having cozy days. I truly believe a slow week is a blessing for our souls. Hugs to you dear friend. ~Juli

Noooo to Fall! That means that dreadful white stuff will soon be here. I soak in all of summer that I can.

  8. Hi Billie Jo. I am looking forward to fall as well. Last week we had temperatures over 100 and I am really getting tired of that. We are hoping for cooler temps and maybe even some rain this weekend. I hope you have a good weekend. BTW, I have never hear of Frute Brute either!

  11. Hi Billie Jo~ I'm with you on summer lingering a little too long, especially this year. We have had a week of record breaking heat...eeekkk! We love breakfast for dinner, we have it every Sunday, it's the best. I have never heard of Frute Brute, but I do love cereal from time to time! So ready to get out my fall decorations up! Have a great week-end! Hugs, Barb

  12. Yeah, I don't remember Fruit Brute! Good for you for doing the bare minimum. Sometimes you just gotta stop for a while. And I agree that diners are underrated! We love them. We're always looking for new ones to try.

  14. If you read my post this week, you know my week has been eventful. Add to that my Amy's 21st birthday yesterday. We surprised her at Starbucks with a cake. She was so happy. Have a blessed week. Enjoy the last bit of summer. Maybe get in the lake again!

  15. Oh, I smiled at your diner photo. I've always loved diners. There's something about them, right? Such happy places. Sometimes staying put and not doing much at all is nice. That is what I'm doing right now, as I pulled a neck muscle possibly while traveling. I bet your dogs didn't mind you staying home one bit. I do hope Flynn has a good school year. Have a wonderful week ahead, Billie Jo. And I'm longing for Fall here too, my friend. : )

  16. I used to mix Frute Brute with Booberry. He is a werewolf. I also remember years when I could only find Count Chocula (not really a fan) and Franken Berry. Booberry is my favorite, even now. Hunters' safety courses are a right of passage. My dad was sent all of us, but my sister and I never actually hunted.

  17. Hmmm, not letting me say who I am... it's Laurie.... I just said yesterday- August has been going on for a year now! Go away, August! I have never liked you, and I am ready for you to leave us!! :) I need a good hair day! :) I am still keeping up with you... but this dang thing called work is making it "every so often" instead of regularly- but I still LOVE this blog!!! :)
