Happy Friday!

This pretty much sums up our week. And I am not unhappy about it. This week has been a hodgepodge of the seasonal variety. We packed away Halloween, wrote Christmas wish lists, planned Christmas decorating, inventoried Thanksgiving menu items, turned the fireplace on in the chilly mornings, turned it off in the warm afternoons, took walks, watched Christmas baking shows, and ate Halloween candy.

Meanwhile, I am thinking about tackling the family room this weekend. This may or may not be due to my dropping the television remote and finding it under the couch, which currently houses far too much dust, dirt, crumbs, and socks. I plan on vacuuming and wiping things down with vinegar water, opening the windows for some fresh air, and washing the winter throw blankets. All this is in preparation for the many cozy evenings we will spend here together. And I always feel better cleaning before I put up the tree. Go figure.

Have a cozy weekend. Thanks for visiting!

  4. Beautiful photos as always. I probably should spend some time cleaning this weekend as well. I'm impressed you have Halloween candy left. Not here, however, I think the last of it did make it until the beginning of the week. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  7. Hi Billie Jo~

It sounds like a perfect week to me! This time of years is usually a smorgasbord of all the good things autumn has to offer. And, I love the vinyl in your last post! One of my favorite things in December is to put on the Christmas records! My mom had a large collection and I was fortune enough to inherit them. I also look for them at thrift stores.

    Have a wonderful week-end!

  8. Yes cleaning with vinegar is what I do. It cleans without stirring up the dust and leaves everything looking clean and smelling fresh. We found some cute throws tonight while out shopping. We also found a station that is playing non stop Christmas music. My husband is so happy. He loves Christmas music and now we won't listen to anything else until after the new year. LOL Have a nice weekend!

  9. Cleaning, deep cleaning you are talking about is always a chore to be dreaded but know it has to be done. You will need a vacation. But getting ready for Christmas makes the work worth it.

  11. I need to get portion of dining room table cleared off. I need to put a cozy winter blanket near or on my recliner. I'm finishing my 2022 I'm creating on Shutterfly. I had to go thru photos on Fri to edit them to look better. It's been raining alot lately and the coast has areas of flooding water. Sad that happened. Have a good weekend.

  12. After reading your post I went and opened up some windows! We've got a short break in the rain today and even though it's cold out, fresh air is always good! We've been cleaning up pine needles from the garage roof and the storm drains today. Then tonight, cozy by the fireplace and eggnog in my Christmas mug! That's all I've allowed myself to do as far as Christmas, get out my mugs. :)

  13. It's nice that you got the family room cleaned. It does take a lot of work and effort, doesn't it? Just one room and I'm pooped. It sounds like you are starting off the Christmas season beautifully. Have fun decorating. That's always one of my favorite things to do. : ) Your doggy looks so cute plopped on both of the throws.
