February was cold, snowy, cozy, quiet, and homey. As we near the end of the shortest month of the year, we see something outside that reminds us winter and darkness don't last forever. The past few days began with beautiful rays of sunlight streaming in and brightening our world. Sunlight is good for the soul. Remember that when you notice the layers of dust that it highlights as well.
This weekend some of us will be going to work while others clean bathrooms and vacuum. Sunday is our monthly Saint Meal! In honor of St. Paul Miki, we are preparing a simple Japanese meal of Oyako Donburi, a chicken and egg rice bowl which Peyton has made many times, and Misoshiru or Miso Soup. I will share photos on Monday!
Have a wonderful weekend, my friends. I plan on snuggling on the couch with some coffee and a throw blanket while visiting you here in Blogland. One more photo before I go. Motherhood is such an amazing vocation, isn't it? Bringing home bundles of new life, bottles and baby food, strollers, and backpacks. Bikes, friends, tears, giggles, phones, first dates, jobs, and then suddenly, that baby you cared for, dressed, carried, hugged, soothed, and loved beyond comprehension is an actual human being, as tall as you are, independent and capable. Yet, inside, tucked deeply as memories, are all the things you shared together. Now, mommy and baby become mother and child. No matter how old that child is.
Happy weekend, my friends.
I love the beautiful life you live and how you make everything special. I share your feelings on motherhood, and love reading your blog. Hugs to you my friend. ~Juli
