My Last Two

These are my last two. My son and my baby. From that moment ten years ago when Rhett walked into my hospital room, looked across the bed, and saw his baby sister, I knew. I knew these two would share a remarkable bond. Want to see?

Look at his proud little seven-year-old face.

I simply love all of the relationships my children share. God knew exactly what He was doing when he planned out our family. Each one of my children shares a unique bond with the others, and it has been an honor to watch them develop. These two? From the very beginning, they have been buddies. Rhett took to the role of big brother flawlessly, and Flynn loves every minute of the time they spend together. They share an interest in music and movies, as well as Legos, basketball, and humor. Rhett is very aware of Flynn and her feelings. He and Kyrstin have been so very considerate of including her in things they know she enjoys. Flynn loves altar serving so much, and could not wait to start after watching Rhett for so many years. I love watching them together, as Rhett teaches her and guides her through Mass. Even though my heart is sad to see my last two growing so quickly, I am comforted by the knowledge that they are the best of friends and will be forever.

Have a lovely week, my friends!
Thanks for visiting.

  1. That is very special that they have that closeness. Seems all your children are close tho, in one way or the other. You have done a good job as their Mother.

  3. This is such a touching post, Billie Jo. How special that your son was an alter server, and that Flynn loves it as well. It's nice that she has a big brother to teach her along the way. I always glance up there at the alter servers during Mass and think they're so special. These pictures are treasures, especially the one where they're baking. I hope they remain close to each other throughout the years.

  8. Such sweet photos. And I think the sibling connection is almost a magical thing. When I couldn't have a child the traditional way after Aaron - I fought hard to make sure he had a sibling because I believe it's such an important connection their whole lives long. Thus, we have Annie.
You have such a beautiful family Billie Jo. Thanks for sharing!

  10. Sibling love is a beautiful thing. I think that's the most special gift you can bestow upon a child, a brother or a sister. God is good. And they love each other because you love them, they see it and feel it, and therefore live lovingly, does that make sense? The pics are so precious, especially when Rhett was holding her as a newborn.
