Food, Coffee, and Books

On Sunday morning, Madison suggested we put something in the crockpot for dinner. I didn't have any meat thawed, but I did have some frozen chicken breast strips and some peppers and onions in the fridge. We threw those in, added some whole canned tomatoes, some garlic, Italian seasonings, and some homemade pasta sauce we bought at the pumpkin patch. It cooked all day, and we served it over some thin spaghetti. It was the best chicken cacciatore I have had in a long time! And it made me feel extra close to my Dad, as it was one of his very favorite meals.

Mornings in late October mean morning spooky movies and steaming hot coffee.
Afternoons mean the spooky movies are replaced with spooky books.
The coffee stays the same.

Have I told you of my new love of all things avocado?
One of my favorite ways to eat it is on whole-grain toast with eggs, tomato, red onion, and cilantro. Did I mention avocado?

Have a spooky, fun, festive Halloween, my friends!
Thank you for visiting!

Ok.
One more.

(Pinterest loves Halloween too.)

  5. The meal sounds yummy. Wont be long til all the ghosts and goblins go back into hiding. It is to be a yukky, rainy day tomorrorw so we wont have any trick or treaters.
