I met Steve when he was seventeen years old. At the time he was working with his father and brothers in their family dealership detailing cars. He quickly moved onto selling and has spent the past thirty-two years doing exactly that and loving every minute of it.
The past few summers Rhett worked part-time at the dealership detailing cars. One day last week he came downstairs ready to leave for work. He was wearing dress clothes because he is also going to be working in the Internet Department. I realized that my little boy is now the age his Dad was when I met him. And he is working in the family business with his father, just as Steve was all those years ago. Time will tell if Rhett chooses to make this his career. We want our children to do what they want to do. But for now, I am enjoying watching as life comes full circle for us.

ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting full circle. The real question is has Rhett met any young ladies recently? He's still got 11 months of 17 just in case. (And I say this in a joking no pressure way! Really!) I love that you have really encouraged your kids to do what they love rather than assuming their path. It's an amazing example!
ReplyDeleteYou are very blessed.
