Whatever You Choose To Do...

Years ago, right after college, I was hired as a second-grade teacher in a perfect little school district near my home. I was thrilled to be able to spend my days in a classroom with those young students. I was so thrilled in fact, that after a few days, the school secretary stopped me and asked me if I wanted to know how much I would be making per year. I remember literally staring at her and asking her if I was actually going to get paid for doing something I loved so much!

This is something I have always told my children. Whatever you choose to do in life, make sure it is something you enjoy.

And you know what?
My two oldest have done just that.

My Madison has become a business owner!
She recently realized her dream of owning and operating a boutique in our town and is so happy to help brides and women of all ages with gowns and dresses and makeup and more. I could not be more proud of and happy for her. This is what she loves to do, and she tells me it isn't like working at all. She is blessed with family and friends who worked hard to help her renovate and prepare her beautiful new shop, as well as support her, as she made her dream a reality.

My Peyton is also finding happiness in a field she loves.
She has recently begun working at a wonderful culinary school here in town!
The owner is a chef who offers several different types of classes, and Peyton works with her when she needs some extra hands. Peyton loves it and is learning so much.
Of course, she continues to bake all kinds of delicious treats and finds great joy in doing that for others.

I am not sharing this to brag or to boast.
Rather, I am sharing it as a reminder that it is possible to find something you love and are passionate about, work hard, pray harder, and live your very best life.

Have an amazing, cozy weekend, my friends!

  14. That is exactly what I told my kids also. I believe we should brag a little, to me it says we love our kids. Who will feel love and proud of our children's accomplishments if not us parents? I am happy for your girls!!
