That Week Went Too Fast!

This morning we said goodbye to Nicolas' family after a wonderful, fun filled week together. We are so blessed they chose to stay with us here in our home during their visit to the United States. I can honestly tell you it was amazing. You know when you meet someone and there is literally no awkwardness?  No weird vibes or forced conversation? That was us. The very first night, Steve, Peter, Kirsten and I gathered together to visit, and right behind us, our seven children, ages eight to twenty four, sat at the game table playing cards and laughing together.

We had so much fun, and cannot wait until time brings our families together again. Until then, hugs and love and best wishes to our new forever friends.

In addition, Mocha celebrated a birthday this week.
Happy 3rd Birthday to my precious pup!

We were blessed with some beautiful weather and generous family this week as well. Steve's brother and his wife hosted us one evening at their beautiful pool where we had dinner and celebrated Nicolas' sister Julia's birthday.
Steve's other brother and his wife invited us to use their boat to enjoy an evening on the lake.
It was perfect!

We even caught a glimpse of a Bald Eagle!
These photos are Peter's, as I took some too, but for some reason all I got was some clouds and sun spots! Imagine that.

We returned home from boating to find my best friend Marian had sent us the most delicious ice cream in some of the most amazing flavors! She wrote that she wanted our families to enjoy it together. Thank you Marian!!! You are the kindest, most thoughtful friend!
And I chose Mocha Chip, of course.

Have a cozy weekend, my friends.
Thank you for all the kind words!
We appreciate every one!

Oh!!! Don't forget!
Shark Week begins on Sunday!!!
An entire week of all things sharks and shark related on Discovery Channel!

  5. I'm so glad to hear of all the wonderful fun things you were able to do while Nicholas's family was with you. It is so wonderful when we meet those people we automatically "click" with. It happened to me a couple of months ago with the wife of one my husband's co-workers.
