Chicken Parmesan...Made By Rhett

One of the things I love about mothering is watching my children grow and learn and master new things. I am a strong advocate for the development of life skills in young people. My son Rhett has recently expressed an interest in cooking. I'm guessing it has something to do with the interest he has in eating. One day last week, he asked if he could make dinner. His choice? Chicken Parmesan. He found the recipe, got the ingredients, and with some help from his sisters, prepared the most delicious meal we have had in a long time.

He paired it with some angel hair pasta and a fresh tossed salad.

I was beyond proud of my son, and was so happy watching all of my children work together in the kitchen. Not to mention the fact that I didn't have to cook dinner. Or clean up!
The recipe can be found here.

Enjoy!

  1. What a super looking and sounding dinner your son prepared. Men that cook are sometimes the best! My son is an excellent cook and even owned his own restaurant. People still brag and I bet they would about Rhett too.

  8. Isn't it wonderful to watch your children growing and maturing into adults? I loved every stage of our children when they were the ages of yours because with each "stage" or "phase" they grew a bit more. I loved the post you did a while back when Madison was still there about not being sorry or sad when your children grow into adults. It is just SO fun to watch that maturing and enjoying conversations with them. Your Rhett's ASKING if he could fix dinner just speaks volumes to me about the kind of nuturing you and your husband have given your kids. And then he shopped for the food and prepared it...and you had the fun of watching all of your children in the kitchen together. LOVED reading about EVERY part of it! His meal looks beautiful and oh so yummy plated up! Way to go, Rhett...and way to go, Mom! Wishing you a very happy Mother's Day on Sunday. xx

  15. Oh my goodness does that look good! I'm really hungry too. Lol Good on ya Rhett! Just awesome. I taught my Aaron to cook some very basics, but he actually asked me to make him a little cookbook to take with him to college after next year. So maybe he'll experiment more in cooking over this next year. I may need to show him this post! Lol Have a great weekend ahead Sweetie. xoxo
