Now...a few random photos of our life the past few weeks...
October became November!!!!
We said goodbye the jack-o-lantern dresses, and hello to the pumpkin dresses.
Our backyard looks like this now.
As much as I love October and Halloween, I have a special spot for the bare trees, crisp wind, and early evenings that November brings. It is almost like an intermission between the Halloween fun and the Christmas joy. We snuggle in earlier in the evenings. We slow down and do less. We plan for a turkey dinner to come, and we begin to organize ideas in our heads for surprises for our loved ones.
November is cozy in the schoolroom...
And full of fun science activities with pumpkins and cranberries!
Just a random photo of my precious little shadow
One of my very favorite things to do in November is switch out Flynn's pajamas from Halloween to Christmas. I do this early because they are just too darn cute and cozy to wear only one month!
During the colder months when we don't go out as much, Flynn basically lives in pajamas. I love the jammies from Gymboree. They are very soft and cozy and fit true to size. They also wash up well.
Another place I like to order from is Carters. I know I am almost done with these precious stores that have been a part of my life for over 20 years, so I am soaking it all in.
Look who is home!!!!!!!
My Madison was planning on coming with Nicolas in a few weeks, but when she heard about Mum, she wanted to come home. And Nicolas made it happen. We are blessed.
And lastly, I came across this beautiful photo of Steve's Mum when she was young.
If you closely at her beautiful face, you might see a resemblance to someone else you know.
I will give you a hint...Mum is holding a plate of cupcakes. ; )
Have a cozy weekend, my friends.
Thank you for visiting!!!
Beautiful photos and memories you are making. And before you even gave the hint, I was likeReplyDelete
That picture of Mum. It reminds me of.... Oh yes, your own personal baker!ReplyDelete
It would seem, that the week, though hard, was smoothed out, by the cooperation of the wonderful family, Mum left behind. What a wonderful legacy, to leave in the world!
I too, find beauty, in the bare trees, against the sky. Every season has its beauty. For some, we may have to look harder. But it is there.
Any little girl would love to "live" in her 'jammies," if they were as cute, as hers are. :-)
Wonderful that you are all together, for a time!!!!!!!
Happy November snuggles hugs,
Good photo's, enjoyed them.ReplyDelete
Sooo happy to be home <3ReplyDelete
Everytime I see Mocha, I want a puppy. ;)ReplyDelete
I love your insight into your mother-in-law's life. What an inspiration!!
We are enjoying the cozy nights, too.
Happy Friday. <3
Wow! She resembles one od your daughters for sure. I miss the fun jammie stage. I am sorry for your loss.ReplyDelete
Wow, does your mother in law and Peyton resemble one another, how beautiful is that, smiles. Thank you for the many smiles (and I do say that a lot). BTW, its 7* and blowing snow here in western NY. SMILES.ReplyDelete
My goodness, Peyton does look like Steve's Mum! I know you were happy to have Madison home for the services. Your fall to winter home is always enjoyable and even the transition is fun. Hope you have a great weekend and spend as much time as you can with Madison before she returns. HugsReplyDelete
I love Flynn cute Christmas pjs. And younpeyton sure does look like your mother in law.ReplyDelete
Love to you my friend. ❤️
Hi Billie Jo!ReplyDelete
It is wonderful to have a family that can get through a funeral and still love one another...;0) My dear father has been gone for 33 years, and my dear mother is on her last leg of her journey on earth. I too will be happy when they are together again...although I will miss her...
Love your bare trees and green grass, always a good thing, right. I love the shorter days as well, I always have. I'll be ready for longer days come February, but for now, it's all about cozy.
I love Gymboree and Carters as well, the clothes last and they are true to size. Flynn's jammies are adorable! It's time, and I love it!
Your classroom must be the funnest classroom ever! I truly am in awe at what you do.
Madison is beautiful! I'm so glad that she could come home for a while, you really need her...after losing someone you love so much, you need loved ones close to you.
Well, Payton certainly is her grandmother's spitting image! Both are beautiful! And, it's awesome that she also inherited that baking gene!!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs and Love,
Billie Jo, my prayers are with you and your family. Your mum sounds like she was a lovely woman. The resemblance between her and Peyton is uncanny. Love all the Thanksgiving books and those stuffed vegetables are too much!!ReplyDelete
Steve's mom looks like Peyton. Or vise versa:).ReplyDelete
Before you mentioned it I saw Peyton in the photo. Such a special thing to resemble someone you cherished. Those jammies are cute! Megan has grown out of Gymboree, but we are still buying Carters! This will be the last year :( as she is now in a size 14. It'll be a sad, sad day when I stop shopping in the girls sections.ReplyDelete
Your daughter Peyton certainly looks like her grandmother! I love seeing the faces of family live on in another generation.ReplyDelete
You described November so beautifully! Your school room looks quite nice with all of the books of the season. A good learning environment.
Enjoy your time with your lovely, Madison. ♥
I am very sorry to hear about your mother in law. It is always hard when someone we love leaves us like that. My heart is with you and your family.ReplyDelete
Awww, that's so nice that Madison could come home.ReplyDelete
And Peyton, your baker, looks like Mum : )
Oh my gosh! SooooOooooooOooooo Peyton!ReplyDelete
I am glad Madison could come home to be with you a little early. She and Nicolas are a good team and have their priorities in check! Christmas jammies are the best!!ReplyDelete
I'm so sorry about your mother in law but I'm sure she is enjoying being reunited once again with her love! Peyton and her look identical and both loving to bake, amazing.ReplyDelete
I love the way you celebrate each holiday! Such a beautiful family.ReplyDelete
Loved it all! The trees becoming bare (even though I LOVE the leaves), winter pajamas coming out, your beautiful classroom that changes with every season/holiday. And of course, your sweetie coming home early to be with her family. I thought your mother-in-law looked like Flynn. Hmmmm. :)ReplyDelete
I sent you an email. Please reply to email@example.com. I don't use my google email account.ReplyDelete
So much to love here! SO happy you made it through the funeral and celebrated her life! YES Peyton looks exactly like MUM!!! Love the jammies, the pumpkin dress and that Madison could come home early!ReplyDelete
