Celebrating The Fourth of July

Years ago, when I was young and energetic, I planned and hosted a huge Fourth of July party at our home for friends and neighbors and family. And it was good. Now...older, wiser, more tired, and less ambitious...I plan and celebrate with our little family and sister and mom. And my bestie Marian. And it is better. : ) Here is how we celebrated Independence Day this year...

Still a menu planner...because that is how my brain works...

Simple but festive table decorations...

Brownies. Because...why not?!?!?!

Littles on swings...barefoot, of course...

Some porch sitting...

Cake eating...

Fireworks watching...

Sparkler playing...

Happiness.

Fourth of July 2015.
Good times.

Ok, summer.
You can slow down now. : )

Yes, summer is flying by, isn't it?! I can't believe it's already July. Hugs to you!

  4. Oh Billie Jo, I always love to see the beauty that you create with your family. I love that you make every occasion an event your kids will always remember. I wish I had slowed down a bit and make those with my children, but I certainly intend to do that with my grandchildren and make more with my children now that I am older and wiser.

  5. Perfect - and smart. Nice, small, easy and lovely. All of your goodies look so yummy. I'd like to bite those brownies through the screen. ;)
Sounds like it was a great weekend. Now maybe if we both grab and end and pull and we can hold onto summer a bit and make it slow down! But I doubt it. ::sigh::
Keep soaking it up my Friend! xo

  9. Love your laid-back attitude! Big parties are great but so much work for the hostess both before and after. Looks like you had a wonderful 4th! Bare feet, porch sitting, brownies... :)
