Strawberry Wine...Ok, Everything But

Are you old enough to remember that song...Strawberry Wine? I loved that song back in the day...But...I digress. Anyway. June is strawberry time around here. It doesn't last long, but when it does, we take full advantage! Proof below...

My hubby brought me home not one...but two of these beauties. : )

And a closer view...just because.
So what exactly does one do with that many fresh berries?
No worries...my little Flynn eats bowls of strawberries daily.
Nothing but sliced berries. And milk.

We added them to our cereal bowls for days...

And my Peyton baked a delicious strawberry upside down cake...
But my favorite strawberry treat every year?

Fresh Strawberry Pie, of course!

Strawberry Season 2014.
Success. : )

What do you all like to do with your fresh strawberries?
In the meantime...I'm patiently waiting for blueberries.
And blackberries, too. : )

  2. We make cobbler, ice cream, put some in freezer and cook some to make strawberry jam, and eat handfuls. Your pictures make me want some right now!

  6. MmmmmmmmmM!! Beautiful!

I love them cut up, plain, or even better with Cool Whip!

When they start to get old, I freeze them and use them for smoothies!

  7. Hi Billie Jo! Our strawberries produce a few here and there. We don't usually get enough to make something substantial from them plus we eat them as fast as we pick them. :-)

  8. If you ever feel like sharing those recipes...I'd love to try them! I've never had strawberry pie or strawberry upside down cake, but they sound delicious.

I usually just cut them up for dinner in the evening with bananas :)

  9. We put strawberries and whipped cream on pancakes or waffles...my kids prefer that to syrup on pancakes. Blueberries--we could eat a gazillion blueberry muffins every day.
